Thursday

Today was a bum around day and a house-cleaning day.  I didn't even get my shower taken until around noon.  Once I was dressed, I dusted every room and then I swept the floors and vacuumed the rugs.  In the middle of cleaning, I got the sweetest phone call...from Aidan.  He wanted to call Grandma Peg to tell me that he didn't have any water!!  I think he was telling me that the campsite they are now at doesn't have a river/lake.  Anyway, we talked for about 15 minutes before he started blowing bubbles and lost interest.  He told me they are going to the St Louis Zoo tomorrow and what all animals they were going to see!  Sure made my day!!

Weds.

I so wanted to sleep in this morning, but it just wasn't to be.  I woke up at 6:30 and dozed until 7:30.  This afternoon I took a nap and thought it would be a long one...not!  I woke up after 30 minutes...grrr!

Weigh-in wasn't so good tonight.  I gained 2/10 of a pound.  I guess that wasn't so bad considering we camped all weekend.

Home at Last!

We were camping in Indiana from Friday thru today.  We got home about 6:00 tonight and we're tired!  I sat here and watched the Cubs tonight because the campground we were in has neither wifi nor tv coverage.  So we're pretty much in withdrawal!  We had a good time, though.  We spent Sunday with Dave's family.  Fun times!  Camping with us were Don & Bev and Nancy & Charlie (Dave's cousin and her hubby).  It was HOT!  No breezes at all and around 95 degrees.

Gorgeous Day

It was perfect here today...approximately 77 degrees, no humidity, and the sun was shining!!  Yay!  We even ate out on the balcony.  The company that was hired to replace the roof of our building got done this afternoon and cleaned up all around - picking up nails and bits of shingles that missed going into the dump truck.

Also, our new furnace got installed today.  Unfortunately they didn't get done and we're leaving for Indiana tomorrow.  We'll leave a key with our maintenance man so he can let them in to install the thermostat (if we've already left.)  We will head to O-town, pick up the floral tributes  from Bob's, check on Bob (after his gall bladder surgery at 11:30), go to the cemetery, decorate graves, and be done in time for me to go to a WW meeting at 5:00.  After the meeting, we'll have either a tenderloin or a Canteen and a shake from Grahams!  Then it'll be back to the WW program on Thursday morning when we take off for Logansport.  The camper is loaded except for the refrigerator so that won't take too long!

Thought I should show you our tomato crop!  The plant is probably 3 1/2 feet high with lots of blooms and here are a couple of little tomatoes!  Yay!  We can't wait to have some straight off the vine tomatoes!!

Monday

What an awesome American Idol!  Our girl from just up the road won American Idol!!  Wow that was so much fun!!  Her dad plays in Clayton's band!

I was here alone again today while Dave worked at Bryan's again.  I actually got the sewing machine out and did a little bit of applique.  Plus I got the laundry done and started packing for our trip to Indiana.  I feel good about this gray day!

Brrrrr...

It is downright cold here today!  I'm sure glad I've got some jeans!  Unfortunately I didn't bring any long-sleeved shirts to Iowa.  I have two here...and I've worn them both to church.  I refuse to buy any more clothes until I get back to Florida!

After church this morning, we tried to go to Morg's (our favorite spot for breakfast) but the line was way too long.  So we went to Newton's and it took us over an hour to get our food - they were that busy.  This afternoon Dave went back to Bryan's to work on Aidan's playset.  He's so excited...he had to tell me all about it.  I didn't go out until 5:00 (for supper).

Saturday

Dave was at Bryan's most of the day today.  He, Bryan, and Erin's dad are putting together a big play set for Aidan.  Dave says it's got a million parts.  They are planning to work again tomorrow after church and breakfast!

I watched for hummingbirds today.  We had our first visitor last night and today I had several visits!  Wish I could tell them apart!

Got a new picture of the girls today.  They look so cute!

Looks like Oaklyn has gained weight!  I wonder when they are going to do her surgery.  The girls are watching Moana!

Friday

Dave and I both wish that we could have the Legion up here...it would have been a gorgeous day to be at the Legion in Madeira Beach!  As it was, it was beautiful here.  The air coming in from outside is cool so it should be good sleeping!

Today we got the camper put away in the rental lot.  We also got everything in it that we'd brought in last fall.  We'll have to load it in earnest on Tuesday night because we'll be leaving on Weds after I weigh in.

Thursday

We started our day out by having a coffee downstairs in the lobby.  It turned into a bit of a meeting because we were all brought up to date on the roof replacement, the furnace & a/c replacement, and the new entry system.  Older people think they have earned the right to be rude to others.  (This is not something I just learned this morning!)

Dave went to Bryan's to mow and power wash the camper. So I was here all by myself the rest of the day.  Dave found 4 more mushrooms so he was happy.

Wednesday

I don't know if I've said anything about the fact that we don't have a/c on our side of the building...and we've had two pretty hot days.  Tomorrow is supposed to be more of  the same, as is Friday!  It finally cooled down enough about  30 minutes ago to open the patio doors.  Mainly we close up the house and just run fans.  The roof is about done, though, so we're hoping to get the a/c back before the weekend!

Tonight at WW, I lost 2.4 pounds which means I've lost 30 pounds!  Yay!!

Tuesday

We went with my niece, Linda, to see the American Idol contestant Maddie Poppe in a parade in Clarksville, IA (her hometown) and to Allison, IA where she put on a live concert.  The grandstand held 5000 people, but there must have been close to 15,000 people there..  There was hardly room to stand...and stand we did.  Good job, American Idol, and great job, Maddie!  Sure hope she wins this!!

Monday

Good news and not so good news today.  The good news is  that my tremors are still just tremors...no Parkinson's.  Yay!!  The bad news is Oaklyn was not having a good day so we didn't get to go visit her.  Boo!  God bless her!  We haven't gotten any updates today so don't know what was going on.

Dave found some mushrooms - yay!  He had them for supper tonight.  He loves those fungi!!

Mother's Day

It was cold & drizzly today, but we got to church without getting wet!  I had to wear jeans to church, because all of my good pants were too big on me.  As I looked around me at church, I certainly wasn't the only one wearing jeans...and I wasn't the oldest one wearing jeans either!

Lunch was at HyVee because the first two places we went were filled with people waiting in line.  Then late this afternoon we went to Bryan's for a cookout.  Aidan loved the new books we got him.  I read all 3 of them to him before supper!

We watched Idol when we came home.  Yay for Maddie making the final 3!  I wonder if we'll make it to Allison to watch her hometown concert???  I hope!

Saturday

I've got nothing today!  I slept in and didn't even shower!  I just bummed out all day while Dave was with Bryan!  It was so cold here that I didn't even poke my head out the  door.  Tomorrow should be a bit better!

Friday

Tonight we got to meet Rowyn.  She likes to smile and loves being talked to.  I didn't hold her because there were a whole bunch of people there who wanted to hold her!  So I waited.  She's a little doll!

The reason we were at Kyle's house is because we celebrated Blaise's 4th birthday, which is actually on Monday.  He was a hoot!  That kid does love opening packages!

We did a bunch of walking again today.  We were at Walmart and Sam's Club, so that equates to a lot of steps.

By the way, it's cold here today!  It got to about 55 with a brisk wind so I'm sure there was a chill factor!  I wore jeans and a long-sleeved shirt AND a jacket!  Brrr...

Thursday

I got a bunch of steps in today!  I went to the basement garage and walked while Dave searched for a tool of us.  Then we went to Bryan's to pick up the camper keys and a drill.  When we got back to town, we went to Staples, then Best Buy, then Staples again.  After that we went to Walmart!  Whew!  I'm glad that I got to do some walking.  Plus, our condo is big enough that just going to the back bathroom, you get quite a few steps in!

Here's a new picture of Oaklyn.  She looks so good!  She's good at the hospital, but we won't get to see her tomorrow when we go celebrate Blaise's birthday...bummer!

Bummed

I'm a little bummed today.  I went to my first WW meeting here this evening.  I wasn't impressed AND I gained a pound...:(  I figured I would gain - I'm just glad that I only gained 1 pound.  After 3 days of being in a car with no exercise at all, it was inevitable.  Bummed!

Plus, we got word that our manager at the Ranch wasn't going to change.  I just don't know how this could happen.  I felt the evidence we presented was extremely compelling and she should be relieved of her duties.  I don't know what else we could have done.  Bummed!

The weather forecast for the next 7 days shows rain possibilities on 6 of those days.  Bummed!

Tuesday

Beautiful but windy day today.  We got our internet and tv today.  So we actually got to see the Cubs tonight!

I had  PEO tonight.  It was good to see everyone again.  Now I've got even more people praying for Oaklyn!

Home

We are home and partially unpacked.  We've also gotten to see Aidan and eat dinner with him and Erin & Bryan.  He was so fun tonight.  He was so excited to see us.  He even talked a mile a minute  - so fun!  We went to "Carlos O'Kelly's house" according to Aidan!  So good to be home!

Oaklyn is back in the hospital.  They had to take her to Iowa City again this evening.  Don't know what's up, but they asked for more prayers.

4 Hours Away

After two days of driving, we're now in Hannibal, Missouri and only have about 4 hours of driving tomorrow.  I'm SO ready to be out of the car and home.  Both Bryan and Erin said that Aidan is going to be excited to see us!  So we'll be going out to dinner tomorrow night with them!  Can't wait to get a hug from that little guy!

Beautiful Friday

Another beautiful day here in our little paradise!  We met Sudi & Howard at the Legion for our last Friday lunch this season.  Good friends and good food!  Plus we had plenty of dolphin sightings!  Always an added bonus!

Oaklyn got home today.  Yay!!  Sure hope all goes well with her this time.

The car is pretty much loaded.  Just needs the cooler and our overnight bag.  We have a few more things to do tomorrow, but we should be able to get out of here by 9 at the latest.  The awnings are down, the flowers watered, and the house is pretty well cleaned!

Thursday

Nothing much to blog about.  We're packing and saying our goodbyes.  Tonight we went to Sandy and Rich's for a going away party.  Lots of fun on a lovely night.  I think there were 14 people there!  Then tomorrow we're going to the Legion for one more time.  This time with Sudi and Howard.

Massage Day

This morning was coffee as usual.  Then we went to Sawgrass Lake Park one more time, just to see if we could see the alligator babies once more.  We were also hoping to see the anhinga babies, but that didn't happen.  It's funny how the stages of development are so different this year.  Last year before we left, the anhinga babies were about to fledge.  This year, they're not even out from under their mother yet.  Everything is later for some reason.

This afternoon, besides packing stuff to take back to Iowa, we had massages.  I had a new person - she was really, really good!

Great day!

What a surprise!  We found out yesterday that we'd probably get our other 4 windows installed today unless he didn't get yesterday's job finished.  He did and we got ours done today!  Yay!  We were going to have Dave fly down sometime later just to be here when they installed them.  Today saved us money and time!  It's so quiet in here this evening!

We've got some more packing to do, but we're getting there.  The plan is to leave Saturday morning...not super early because we neither one like to drive in the dark.  We'll stop when we get tired.

We also found out that Bryan and Erin are having a girl!  Perfect little family!  Aidan wants a sister so that's awesome!
