Sorry!

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-3672795669220732362021-05-13T21:38:00.004-05:002021-05-13T21:38:50.599-05:00Thursday
We had a fun day today. We went to Harmony House to purchase a tomato plant and some flowers for our balcony. We found a Big Boy tomato plant and some beautiful geraniums and a sweet potato vine for our flowers...unfortunately they didn't have any flower pots already planted so we had to just buy the plants. Then we went to Fleet & Farm to purchase some dirt and a couple of pots for our plants.

Since we were out, we went to Big Woods Lake for our walk. We were only going to walk part-way around the lake, but we got to walking and Dave thought we were over halfway around so we might as well just finish walking around the lake...so we did. It was farther than we thought back to the car! We weren't halfway at all. By the time we finished, we walked 2.7 miles. We're used to walking 2 miles, but add on that extra .7 mile and it's a LONG walk.

After getting home and resting a bit, we planted our plants. By then we headed down to Liars' Club. There weren't many there today, but it was still fun. This evening Dave had a Board meeting, so I just hung out!

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-57676547150946193852021-05-12T21:35:00.001-05:002021-05-12T21:35:27.037-05:00Wednesday
I had a lazy morning - I didn't even get my shower taken until after 11:00. Once I got ready for the day, though, I accomplished a lot. I did a bunch of paperwork and now I'm ready to reconcile bank accounts. Dave went to Bryan's to mow so that left me on my own. I even opened the balcony door for over an hour today.

We walked the cemetery today. We actually walked the whole route so we got in our two miles. It was a great day to walk - not too hot and not too cold! I walked in shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. It was just a perfect day for walking! When we got back from our walk, it was almost time for Liars' Club. I think there were 5 ladies and 4 men...at one point there were 4 men and me!!

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-12077791121825494912021-05-11T21:37:00.002-05:002021-05-11T21:37:41.723-05:00Tuesday
Another cold day here. We didn't walk because it was just too cold. We have become so spoiled by living in Florida.

We finished cleaning the house today and I made chili soup. Our condo smelled so good all day with the chili cooking in the crockpot.

Dave went mushroom hunting this afternoon. He found 7 nice ones so he'll get to have at least one meal of mushrooms. We finally had a bit of rain this weekend. If we'd just have rain AND heat, there might be tons of morels!

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-57746185601312006332021-05-10T21:42:00.001-05:002021-05-10T21:42:14.190-05:00Monday
We got a bunch of little things done off our to-do lists. Then I started cleaning the condo. After 5 months of no one living here, there's plenty of dust to be cleaned up. I ran the vacuum in 3 rooms and dusted all of them, too. Dave was working in the building with the other HOA board members.

After lunch we had appointments to see our chiropractor and then we took naps. Dave went to Liars' Club while I slept. Tomorrow's another day to clean the rest of the house. It was too cold to walk today!

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-43870588870280653382021-05-09T22:09:00.001-05:002021-05-09T22:09:17.026-05:00Sunday
Dave and I worked around here after church services online. I tried to get my crafts put away and organized. I'm almost done with that. I've got a bunch of paperwork to do, but that isn't a priority for me. I'll get it done this week probably.

We took a walk today - these hills are something! When you're used to walking in Florida then try walking around here, it's really different. I thought the walk up to the cemetery was going to kill me. It certainly gave my heart a good workout! We stopped on the way up the hill to visit with a lady who was out...seems she's originally from Ottumwa and is Al Schmidt's sister-in-law. Al is someone we worked with at Indian Hills. It's a small world! Then coming home, we got to visit with my friend, Connie - the one with the 4 little dogs. She had Kirby out and I got some doggy loving!

This evening we went to Bryan's for supper. It was so great seeing Aidan and Kaitlyn! I got lots of snuggles with Kaitlyn. She's just a little doll.

More later...

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-2876048305521144652021-05-08T21:49:00.004-05:002021-05-08T21:49:32.756-05:00Saturday
Oh my gosh, it is cold here today! Dave and I ran errands late this morning and I thought I would freeze! Dave told me we wouldn't be outside much so I should be okay without a jacket as long as I wore a long-sleeved shirt...well, he was wrong!

When we got home, I put on a sweatshirt - over my long-sleeved shirt. I also had on jeans, and socks with my tennies.

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-67413692913701115122021-05-07T21:42:00.001-05:002021-05-07T21:42:07.559-05:00Friday
Just like that we're in Iowa at our condo where it's a balmy 51 degrees outside and 68 inside! We've already run the furnace...can you believe it?!

We had a beautiful and uneventful (Thank God) trip. Other than "hiding" from the one thunderstorm, we had a great drive. This nation is so pretty - all the greens are just gorgeous. Iowa is very dry, but tomorrow we're supposed to have rain showers and we won't complain it we get them. When we drove into Waterloo, we drove directly to our favorite Mexican restaurant! We split a margharita and enjoyed it thoroughly! We even have leftovers of our food for tomorrow...nothing left of the margharita though!

Everything is unpacked and most of it is put away. After we brought the first load up to the condo, we went down to the lobby where every afternoon at 4:00 whoever wants to come down gather to visit. It was fun walking in and surprising everyone today! It was good to see everyone, too.

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-64526087623925181712021-05-05T20:20:00.002-05:002021-05-05T20:20:11.787-05:00Wednesday
The house is clean and everything is packed except for the refrigerator. We're going to try to leave around 7:00 in the morning. If we get out earlier, that would be nice...but I don't see that happening. Say a prayer for safe travels for us!

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-48910344183938452942021-05-04T20:55:00.002-05:002021-05-04T20:55:39.020-05:00Tuesday
Another hot day here - I think summer has started. We went to Largo Nature Preserve to walk this morning. Didn't see the little screech owl or any alligators, but saw some baby ducks and baby moorhens. Lots of algae on the water so a lot of the birds are gone. When we got home, I took my shower and got ready for my mammogram...finally!

I got busy around here this afternoon - cleaned the refrigerator. I'll still have to do the freezer part, but it's mostly done. Dave put the awnings down, except for the large one out front - we'll do that tomorrow. I'll vacuum and dust and cover the furniture tomorrow while Dave is moving things inside. The charcoal, kitty litter, and ant/roach traps are ready to go as is the RV antifreeze for the drains. I've called to have things put on vacation.

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-57519106565652825182021-05-03T21:02:00.000-05:002021-05-03T21:02:03.436-05:00Monday
I took a "me day" today! I got my hair cut and had a pedicure! I needed both badly! We walked at Largo Nature Preserve where we saw a little screech owl in her nest. That's a first for me. Screech owls are only about 6-7 inches tall and make their homes in holes in trees. We'd have never seen her, but there were 4 people on the trail with their cameras pointed at her!

More later...

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-77798646118694361572021-05-02T20:30:00.005-05:002021-05-02T20:30:58.432-05:00Sunday
We're having a heat wave here! It was very hot today. We walked on the sidewalk in Indian Rocks Beach. That was really, really hot! We parked at Caddy's Pub and walked south over half a mile. Then we came back. When we got there, Sudi and Howard had arrived and were getting out of the car. We ate a late lunch inside in the a/c!

When we got home, we rested a bit, then packed up some things. We packed the car - we're probably 90% packed and ready to go. Tomorrow we start the cleaning and getting the house ready for us to leave. I'm still trying to get a mammogram scheduled. Hopefully I'll get an appointment tomorrow.

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-12169397369920545742021-05-01T20:53:00.001-05:002021-05-01T20:53:05.048-05:00Saturday
Today was another hot day in Florida! Hot and humid! We walked at Sawgrass today - we even walked the back trail in addition to the one we usually do. We didn't take the good cameras - just our phones. There were some baby anhingas in a nest, but they were a bit far away for our phones.

This evening we went to the clubhouse to watch the Kentucky Derby. We walked on the beach - I walked in the water and Dave walked near me! That was a good way to walk. It was hot out, but the water cooled me down. We don't have many more days this season to walk on the beach and I will really miss it.

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-14877364239060033962021-04-29T21:16:00.003-05:002021-04-29T21:16:17.281-05:00Thursday
I had to be at the clinic at 7:45 this morning for a mammogram. I actually got there a bit early, checked in, and sat down in the waiting room. The gal who does them, came out to talk to me. Seems the doctor shouldn't have ordered a bilateral mammogram...he should have just ordered the side I had my cancer in. Since it was so early, they couldn't get in touch with him to change the order. She said they would talk to Dr Jooma and get it worked out, then call me. I haven't heard from them and I got up way early so I'm a little grumpy about it!

Since I was up and going, we went for a walk. We went to both Eagle Lake and to Largo Nature Preserve. There are babies everywhere. We saw little green heron fledglings and moorhen babies and baby ducks everywhere!

More later...

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-21031308569739147062021-04-28T20:53:00.002-05:002021-04-28T20:53:34.615-05:00Wednesday
We've had some hot, muggy days here. Today was another one, although we had a nice breeze today too. We ran errands today and got almost everything done. We went to church to deliver a card for Pastor Jack's retirement. Also stopped at the clinic to get Bob one of Dr Pandja's (sp?) business cards. One of our stops was at Lowe's because our door lock broke. While we were out, we used the rest of our gift card to JD's by having lunch there. Then we got our last orange/vanilla ice cream cone of the season.

This evening we said our good-byes to Gayle and John because they're leaving between 4:00 and 4:30 in the morning.

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-56628063747367748912021-04-27T20:51:00.001-05:002021-04-27T20:51:15.786-05:00Tuesday
Here are a couple of pictures from last night's sunset on Madeira Beach and our chance encounter with a shark.

Pretty cool, huh?! All along I thought I was meeting with the cardiologist, when it was really with the oncologist. Duh! I had to make a quick move to the right lane so I could make my turn.

Dave worked with Karen, Laurie, John & Gayle to get the leftover stuff from the auction into cars and took it to Amvets. Meanwhile, John & Gayle swept the clubhouse and cleaned the rest of the tables. So that project has been put away until next year. The rest of the day, Dave worked on sanding the pock marks off our driveway and painting it. As if that wasn't enough, then we delivered newsletters!!

This evening, I worked on uploading my photos and getting them organized.

More later...

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-65767835865669510962021-04-26T21:27:00.003-05:002021-04-26T21:27:39.020-05:00Monday
Dave and I went up to the clubhouse this morning. There were 3-4 people already there, doing some more shopping. By mid-afternoon everything was boxed up ready to be taken to Amvets or Hospice. We've even got 7 of the tables cleaned and disinfected. They'll be able to play cards tonight and bingo tomorrow.

We took John & Gayle and went to the new Caddy's in Madeira Beach this evening. After dinner, we took our chairs out to the beach and watched the sunset. It was beautiful tonight. Then while we were there, we watched a guy who was fishing catch a shark!!! Now that's something you don't see every day Somebody said it was a shortfin mako shark, but I don't know if they truly knew or were only guessing. It was about 3 feet long and very sleek looking. After the family all got pictures with it, they released it and it swam away. Pretty eventful evening!

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-59841944228624627602021-04-25T20:14:00.003-05:002021-04-25T20:14:44.663-05:00Sunday
Since it was Sunday, we did our usual church services online. Then we got ready for a late lunch at Tom & Karen's Legion. It's also a very nice place. Huge swimming pool and nice ourdoor seating. We all had a good time. We kept waiting for the rain, which never happened!

I finally posted a bunch of pictures on Facebook. I was able to get all through my April pictures. I have already edited the March pictures. We had our annual Chinese Auction. We made around $200 on the auction and had a lot of fun doing it. We're all very tired tonight, though. We've still got lots of stuff left. We'll be taking it to the Amvets or Granny's Attic on Monday.

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-32601373820570702362021-04-23T20:30:00.000-05:002021-04-23T20:30:02.875-05:00Friday
I worked at the clubhouse again this morning. Everything is ready for tomorrow morning. I'll be glad when this is over!! Dave is working on his widows and orphans list of things to do. This afternoon, we both went to one lady's house to hang a mirror and a very heavy picture. Cross one off! Also, another lady wanted him to hang a couple of towel racks, but she texted him that they were on hold for now...cross off another one! He put RV antifreeze, etc. in sinks and toilets for another one...cross that one off! He also checked the level-ness (is that a word??) of another one...yay, Dave! He's still goot another job or two on his list. Hope he can get them done tomorrow while I'm working at the auction tomorrow.

We went to Largo Nature Preserve for our walk today. Saw a little alligator, probably about 2 1/2 feet long. That's the first young one we've seen there. We also saw both a black crowned night heron and a yellow crowned night heron. Of course, we did...we didn't take any cameras today!

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-18381701401297877202021-04-22T20:31:00.001-05:002021-04-22T20:31:11.838-05:00Thursday
I wemt up to the clubhouse to help with setting up for Saturday's Chinese Auction. We have every table in the clubhouse full! Two years worth of stuff...plus we've already taken a bunch of excess stuff to Amvets. We'll work again tomorrow since the auction is Saturday.

I had to leave to take my heart monitor to the cardiologist. It was itching under the monitor so I was really glad to get it off. Unfortunately I have blisters where the monitor was...must have been something I was allergic to in the stuff that made it stick to my chest. The blisters are a lot smaller tonight, thank goodness.

Dave painted Bob & Ann's driveway so he got one of his projects done...he's got at least 6 more to do and time is getting short. We went to Taylor park to walk. We saw a couple of nice sized alligators. Then I had to go have a blood draw before I get my Prolia shot on Tuesday.

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-4329120343042040572021-04-21T20:32:00.003-05:002021-04-21T20:32:53.073-05:00Wednesday
I got up at 4:50 AM so I was able to say goodbye to Bob and Ann before they left this morning. Actually Dave got up a bit later and told them goodbye too. They didn't get away until about 5:30 but they made it to Dyersburg, TN tonight. They'll finish the trip tomorrow now...Lord willing.

Dave and I helped stage and sort things for the Chinese Auction on Saturday. I picked up some little yellow earth movers and dump trucks to put in the camper for the grandkids. They'll like them! This afternoon I had a board meeting.

We ended up taking our walk around 6:00 when it was cooler.

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-113160069653341242021-04-20T20:13:00.002-05:002021-04-20T20:13:57.119-05:00Tuesday
We had another rainy, drizzly day here. It was a good day for doing things inside! Bob and Ann are all packed up ready to leave early in the morning! I didn't get to say goodbye to Ann - she was playing bingo and I was tired, so I'm already in bed!

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803383402747341220.post-89853821754219403192021-04-19T20:40:00.003-05:002021-04-19T20:40:46.298-05:00Monday
Rainy day!! I didn't think it was going to quit raining...it rained, sprinkled, drizzled, or misted much of the day. I had a doctor's appointment for an Echo test this morning. Again I walked up the steps rather than taking the elevator. By the time I got to the reception desk I was breathing pretty hard. I slipped my mask down a bit and got some fresh air so I felt better! The Echo was easy. Then I got my new heart monitor put on my chest. It shows in almost all of my shirts! I have to keep it on through Thursday morning, then I can take it off and return it to the clinic. Then I wait to hear from the doctor.

We finally walked late this afternoon. We quit early because it was starting to sprinkle heavier!

More later...
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
