What????

The tv is on and I just heard a snippet of a weather report saying that a cooldown is on the way.  No!  It's been about perfect here!  I rode my bike today and thought it was wonderful!  I still think Christmas lights look weird here, but it is what it is!

Back Home

We had a great time in Ft Lauderdale, visiting Jami and her family.  The kids are growing up and are acting accordingly.  We were able to take Danny to the beach to kayak - in the ocean!!  He's only 10, but he did a great job against some big waves!  Kelly worked a bunch while  we were there, and Megan was sick when we left. 

We got home in time for me to play bingo and I finally won a bit!  I'm still not out of the hole for the year, but at least I made a dent in it!  Today was our last coffee and tonight I played cards!

Sunday morning

We're in  Ft Lauderdale and the wifi is spotty at best.  We got here Friday.  It is beautiful here - abundant sunshine and warm!  We're heading to church and then to Bru's Room for lunch with the family.  Then over to Jami's to do more "daddy-dos"!!  We'll go back home on Tuesday morning!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I sure hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We did!  We had to cook 10 # of potatoes and mash them.  Here in our mobile home, we don't have big pans.  We used a Dutch oven for one of our pans.  They turned out really good!  Our meal was wonderful!  It was especially fun having Rhonda and her family with us!

When we got home, we Skyped with Bryan and Aidan.  He said Happy Thanksgiving and wondered why we were in our kitchen.  That was fun!

Weds.

Coffee this morning and then putting up Christmas lights and decorations outside!  We got partway done and then it was nap-thirty!

I finally won at cards tonight!  Yay!

Tomorrow is a big day!  I hope everyone is thankful for their many blessings!

B&B

Fun times at the bowling alley. Our family all bowled together this morning...except for Dave.  He had a blood blister on his thumb that ripped open on his practice balls.  So he didn't bowl!  I had one good game and two so-so games!  In fact, I was high woman bowler today with a 172! Fun!!

Bingo was the same as the last three weeks - I didn't win! 

Now I'm watching DWTS, waiting to see who will win.  I figure it will be Jordan, but nothing will surprise me!

Monday

Today I took my walk at Sam's Club today!  We had to get muffins for Weds.  We also went to Einstein's to get the bagels for Weds.   This afternoon, Dave washed the roof while I worked on the newsletter.

Tonight we went with the family to Post Corner for pizza and then I played a game of Farkle with the family!  Fun times!

Sunday

We skipped church this morning.  We wanted to go to the Sanding Ovations, but it was supposed to rain by around noon.  So we went to the beach around 10:00.  The sculptures were beautiful this year - maybe the best we've seen!  We got done there and went to Gators for lunch.  We got our lunch and the rain came.  We all went inside to finish our food!  We really need the rain, so what little we got was welcomed!

This afternoon, Rhonda, Steve, and Cheyenne flew in from Texas.  It's so good to see them!

It was another gorgeous day here.  We started our day with breakfast - the first of the season.  Then it was shuffleboard time.  I didn't do so well, but I started hitting better toward the end.  Hopefully I'll do better next time.

Good Cyclone victory this afternoon and then a visit with Bobbi & Alan.

Friday

We went to Moccasin Lake Park today, but we were very disappointed.  We saw no birds and only a squirrel for our critters.  Oh, sorry, we saw several turtles, but nothing else until we left the park.  In the ditch at the park entrance, we saw a pair of peahens and a peacock.  Very disappointed, but it was a beautiful day anyway.

Beautiful day today.  I determined that I wanted to go out for lunch, so Dave, Bob, and I went to Maggie Mae's on Sand Key..  It was a great day to sit outside by the water.  Dave and I trimmed plants out front, then he watered them.  I went to cards tonight since we didn't get to play last night.

Today was coffee.  Did I tell you that we're in charge of coffee for the month  of November?  We set it all up and clean up and do all the announcements, etc.  We've got 2 more to do for this year.  Tonight we had our kickoff for the year - a wine and cheese party.  It was well attended and lots of fun!

Just one B today - bingo...and I didn't get to say it at all!  The HOA board met with our Regional Director this morning and that took 2 hours, so no bowling!  We had a good meeting, though.  Got some questions answered!

I had a dental appointment this morning - for another crown!  I'm sure I  now  have more crowns than any queen in the world has!!  This one was unique though...I was only there 2 hours and they made my crown while I waited.  So, prep and finish all in one visit - yay!!

Sunday

Sermon was so good today.  Pastor Jack talked about how we need to get children back in church/Sunday School.  If not, we're going to have a Godless society before we leave this earth.  Not a pleasant thought.  One of the things I ponder is the fact that when we grew up, we were not only afraid of our parents (respect), but we were also afraid of sinning and therefore afraid of the wrath of God.  I think that's what's missing in the world today...respect learned from God's teachings.

Dave and I went to Sawgrass this morning.  It was a beautiful day!  We saw and got some good pix of critters!  Fun times.  Then I watched the Cyclone game while Dave went to help Ron at Sandy & Rich's.  Good game, but didn't like the outcome or the last call. 

Took a bike ride and tonight we've been watching more football!

It was a little cooler today - only in the 70's and a bit cloudy.  It's a nice change of pace after so much heat!  Dave wanted me to help him trim the bushes at the side of the house, and it was a great day to do that..  He even washed the car today.

Beautiful Thursday!

Dave went to church early to help with the lawn crew.  He got home about 10:15 or so.  I hadn't showered yet, but I'd eaten my breakfast at least.  He worked around the park, spraying for bugs and weeds at the Iowan's homes. 

It cooled down enough that we could ride bikes this afternoon.  People here in the park have some beautiful flowers!  I need to take my camera next time.

Wednesday

Very busy day today!  We had coffee this morning - we're in charge for the month of November.  Then after coffee, we had our first HOA meeting.  We got to come home for just a bit and then we took Bob & Ann to the Tampa airport to fly out to San Antonio.  Once we dropped them off, we stopped at Whiskey Joe's for a late lunch.  It was a beautiful day to sit by the water - even though it was low tide!  Of course, after we got home, it was nap thirty!  Then cards!

Tuesday

Today was the first B&B of the season!  Bowling and Bingo!  My new bowling ball is sure pretty.  Now, if I can just get my back to stop hurting to where I can throw it right, I'll love it!  I at least averaged over 100!  We had 14 bowlers the first day...and 21 bingo players tonight!  I didn't win, but I was waiting almost every game.  Maybe next week!

I'm Tired!

We had a great time this past week.  Along with 14 other girlfriends from high school, I spent the past 5 days in Miramar, Florida (near Destin).  We had a house just off the beach where we all stayed.  Fun times - lots of catching up and looking back!  Shopping and eating, and even drinking, took up the rest of our time.  There wasn't much sleeping!  Fun times!

I didn't even play cards tonight - just too tired!
