Wednesday

I didn't get the result that I hoped to get when I met with the radiologist this afternoon.  I have a ductal carcinoma in-situ in my breast - 4 mm in size and it's still in the duct which is very good.  As soon as I get to Florida, I will be having an confirmation MRI followed by a lumpectomy and most likely radiation.  I am anxious to get it done before it becomes something major.  I've shed my tears of fear and talked to God.  He is in charge and with His blessings, I'll be just fine.

This is Bryan's birthday, so tonight we met him and his family at Carlos O'kelly's for dinner.  It was a fun evening!  I even got to hold the baby!

Weds.

We're about ready to pack the car!  That's a tomorrow job.  All of the house has even been cleaned.  Tonight we took the camper to Kyle's  for the winter.  Bryan took his there too, so the two little boys got to play in the sandbox!

When we were done, we went to Sasquatch Jack's in Waverly for supper.  This is my tenderloin!  I only ate about 1/3 of it.  It was scrumptious!!

Wednesday

We got some things done around the house today.  Good deal.  We also went shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond - I love that place!

Here's something I wanted you to hear last night, but I couldn't get my phone to download it!!

We get to see him tomorrow!!  Can't wait!

1 Month Anniversary

It was a month ago when I fell at church...July 2nd.  I finally was able to sleep all night in the bed.  I still can't sleep on my side the way I like to sleep.  So I'm still not happy with it.  When I sleep the way I like to sleep, I'm sort of twisted to my front...I'm not on my right hip at all.  That puts pressure on my ribcage and that still hurts.  I'm getting closer though!

Today I worked on Christmas cards again.  Now I'm assembling them and then the last step will be to stamp the sentiment on the inside.  I bought a new product which will be very helpful with that.  It's called MISTI and it'll take my shakes out of the equation!!

Here are a couple of pix from the weekend.  The first is Bryan, Erin, and Aidan in the water park.

Storm Lake is full of these carvings.  When a tree dies or blows down, a local artist carves them into various animals, people, etc.  Here are a couple of them from the park.

Aidan's birthday party

Today was another day of cleaning and finishing up last minute things before Sunday.  Tonight, however, was for Aidan.  He loved us singing to him and he loved his pizza and his birthday cupcake!  He and I played with his farm stickers and he even let me read to him a little.  When we got ready to leave, he even gave me a real kiss and an Eskimo kiss!

I miss him already!!

Soggy Friday

We wanted to be able to go to the beach today - I guess the kids hadn't been to the beach on this side of the state.  Yesterday wasn't a good day and neither was today.  It rained about 3/4 of an inch about the time we were ready to go.I finally gave up and took a nap - I love to sleep with the rain on the roof!  While I was asleep, the family went to Sand Key and the kids did get to enjoy the beach.  They found some sea "stuff" like a basket starfish carcass and a lightning whelk shell casing, along with some sponges, etc.

Something else exciting today, Aidan got a big-boy haircut!

He looks so cute!

My Cyclones struggled tonight, darn it.  This was not a good night to have a bad game.  Virginia was just too good.

Exhausted!

Dave and I are both exhausted.  In fact, tonight we've just sat in our chairs - no tv, no noise, nothing!  Bryan, Erin, and Aidan left here at 5:20 AM to go to the airport.  They're back in Iowa after about a week here in the warmth!  They had a great time at Disney.  Aidan loved the rides they took him on...of course, he's not big enough for many of the rides, but Dumbo was his favorite.  Bryan said he loved the "characters" too.  I miss his cute little face!

Speaking of cute faces...here are all 4 of our grandchildren and their cute faces!
We put up most of our Christmas decorations today.  Tomorrow we'll have to finish and get some pix tomorrow night!

I thought I'd share a picture of two of the sweetest little guys you've ever seen.  The first one is Aidan, our grandson.  He just is so fascinating.  I'm not sure I've ever seen him cry..  I've seen him fake cry, but not a real cry!  Isn't he cute?  He'll be 1 on the 13th - 1 week from now.  Right now he's pretty much a mommy's boy.  He's finally warming up to me.  Dave has no problem with him, but he still is a little leery of me.

The second little guy is Kyle & Cassie's little guy, Blaise.  He's my great, great nephew.  He is 17  months and he's a little dynamo.  He's like the Energizer Bunny...he just keeps going and going!  He likes football and likes to read and does several animal sounds.  He also knows where his nose is, where his eyes are, etc. and he showws you his muscles!  He doesn't just walk, he runs!  He's also fearless and isn't a bit bashful.

We had a fun day.  We went to Iowa City to have lunch with Chris, Sudi & Howard before we take off for Florida.  Then this evening, Bryan's handyman came by to give us a bid for our backsplash..  He's going to do it the 15th of this month!  I guess Bryan will have to send us a picture!

Icky day

It was pretty icky here today.  It rained most of the day.  My poor little hummingbirds just sat on their feeders trying to stay dry.  There was one on each of our two feeders almost all day.

They just sit there all hunkered down...bless their hearts!

I was pretty bored today.  Dave went to help Kyle & Cassie move to their new acreage.  I stayed here and made some Christmas cards.  I also finished the Oct newsletter and calendar for Holiday Ranch.  Yay!  My desk looks really good, but my craft table is a MESS!  I've got 41 Christmas cards done and 4 more almost done.  I only have about 25 more to do!

Here's a picture of Aidan last week when we were out to dinner.  I finally got to hold him.  He's leery of me because he doesn't see me often.  He's a cutie!

Wednesday, September 2, 2015

We had a good day today.  Dave left here around 8:00 or so to go fishing in his little boat.  He actually left around 6:30 but it started raining on him so he came back home.  He said he enjoyed himself but didn't catch any fish.  He had a bite or two but no luck landing anything.  While he was gone, I went to Walmart for some picture frames and some groceries.  I found some boneless pork ribs that looked wonderful, so I put them in the slow cooker for us for tonight.  Mmm...mmmm - they were delicious!  I also bought some Rhodes frozen rolls and sat 9 of them out to rise.  Unfortunately they rose to past double and I had to cook them at 3:00 PM so we had a little snack in the afternoon!

Bryan sent us a video of Aidan last night...he's learned something new!

I sure hope you can see this - he's so cute!!

Two Little Boys

All of the rain we've had for the last few days has made me depressed, but the arrival of our newest grandson is a bright spot among the raindrops!  Let me introduce you to Aidan William Cornelius Frushour....big name for a little guy.  He was 20" long and weighed 7 lbs 4 oz.  Aidan was born on Monday, Oct 13th at 12:28 PM.  He is just precious!

As you can see, Grandpa and Grandma both think he's pretty special!

While we were in the Waterloo area, we went to Linda & Al's for pizza and to spend the night.  So, we got to see Blaise, too.  He looks pretty big after seeing Aidan!  Blaise is 5 months old today and weighs about 19 lbs!  He was having fun with his grandma and great, great aunt Peg!!

We are glad to be home for a few days.  We'll decide what we are doing about Florida soon!  After these last 3 days of cold, windy, rainy days, I hope we get to go soon.
