Thursday

Dave didn't go work at church this morning, but he did go to breakfast with the guys.  I just was a slug this morning.  I got to watch "The View" and then we went to Sawgrass to walk.  Unfortunately the boardwalk was closed because a helicopter was "spraying" or something for mosquitoes;  They said it would open in about 35 minutes, but we were there for over an hour and it still didn't open.  There was a busload of kids on a science field trip - they didn't get to see much wildlife.

This evening we went to the clubhouse for taco night.  Delicious!!

Wednesday

We went back to the doctor this morning.  Dr Roberts told us that Dave's lens is exactly on!!  And his eyesight had improved a whole bunch!  So now we're ready for next week's surgery on the other eye.

When we got home, I went up to play shuffleboard.  I actually won both of my games today!  The rest of our day was just hanging out.

Tuesday

Dave had a procedure this morning to fix his slipped lens in the eye he had worked on last week.  First of all, we sat for 2+ hours before they even took him back to prep him for the procedure.  It was another 2 hours before they called me back and it was all done.  Last week I got to sit with him before he went into the procedure room, but not this week.  Thank goodness I wore jeans and had on a sweatshirt because after 4 hours in that freezing room, I was chilled to the bone!  When we left the surgical center, we both had our heated seats on high!!

Dave slept most of the rest of the afternoon.  Says his eye has some pressure, but he can see better than he could last week.  Back to the doctor in the morning...early again.

Monday

Today was  a lazy day for me.  I didn't get around until after 10:00.  After my shower, I watched "The View" and then after a while, Dave and I went to Walmart for a few things.  I got my walk in.  Unfortunately I didn't get a long walk in - maybe tomorrow when we get home from Dave's procedure.  It's supposed to be really nice temperature-wise for the next few days!  Gotta love that!

Ten of us played cards tonight.  Fun times!

Sunday

Church was great.  Pastor talked about reconciliation.  Reconciliation means talking and not giving up - trying to come to an understanding, but still loving the person/group with opposing views.  Wouldn't it be nice if Washington, DC could get this message.

After lunch, Ann, Barb and I went to see "Nice Work if you Can Get It".  Very good play with wonderful music by the Gershwins.

Saturday

Another hot day in the neighborhood!  At least today there was a steady breeze blowing to help cool you down!

We ran some errands this morning.  Went to Sam's Club to pick up a few things.  I took advantage of the a/c and did my walking in there.  Don't go to Sam's on the weekend, folks!  It's really, really crowded!!

This afternoon, we met Suzy and Greg for an early supper at Woody's River Roo in Ellenton.  It turned out to be a great day to sit out.  We split an order of blackened chicken nachos.  Pretty good and by splitting a meal, it was just the right amount of food.

Friday

This morning, Dave had another eye doctor appointment.  Guess what?  His new lens has shifted.  Dave remembers the doctor saying (during the procedure) that he was having a hard time getting the lens in the right spot.  So now, Tuesday Dave has to have this one fixed instead of having his other eye done.  Dave's brother and his wife will be here the week after, so his right eye won't get done until the 12th of March.  Disappointed!!

It was a hot one here today!  At 1:30ish it was 87 but felt like 91 degrees!  We were sitting at Bahama Breeze with friends from Indiana outside.  Dave and I were in the sun and I got sick as we got up to leave.  Dave went to the bathroom and I had to sit down our I was going to pass out.  When Dave got back, he helped me get inside in the a/c.  I got a menu and fanned myself, plus the host brought me a glass of water.  After a few minutes - maybe 15 - I felt better and was able to get home.  I went in to lie down and went to sleep for over an hour!!
