We made it home, safe and sound - thank you, God! We had a very good time on our little trip. On Saturday night we went to a party for our O-town pastor, David, and his wife, Liz. It was a great group of hand-selected people who have been friends with David & Liz for the past 7 years. It coincided with David's retirement and his 70th birthday, as well as their pending move to Wisconsin to begin their retirement life. Fun times and lots of laughs!
Sunday we went to church with our old friends and then lunch with a group of 10. Then Monday we went to Cantril to get our 25 pounds of popcorn for Florida, plus a list of stuff from Ann. We met Bob & Ann for lunch at the Recovery Room. Bob has now had 13 radiation treatments out of 35. He says they drive for 3 hours (both ways) for 3 minutes of treatment. Say a few prayers for my brother!
After lunch we took off for Cherry Glen campground at Saylorville. We couldn't get in at Adventureland. Cherry Glen is beautiful and quiet!! Unfortunately they didn't have any WIFI at all. We checked our phones by using data, but didn't use them for anything else. We did, however, have decent tv viewing for the evenings when we returned from the Fair. Again, the Iowa State Fair was wonderful. We were there two partial days and saw lots. This is the first time we didn't eat a bunch of junk! We had a great time!
More later...
