Sunday

We had a wonderful church service today.  Pastor Jeremy talked  about Jonah and his Ninevah moment.  He did a good job.  Music was wonderful, too.

After church we went to Sawgrass.  The alligators are mating and we were hoping to see the big gators.  No such luck...the biggest we saw was about 5 feet.

This afternoon we had our potato bar at The Ranch.  It's a wonderful meal.  Huge baked potatoes and anything you could want on one!  Then those fabulous desserts!  Sudi and Howard came so we got to catch up with them! 

Another plus...Duke got beat!!

Saturday

This was a pretty quiet day.  Dave and I went to Sam's Club to get some things, including gas.  Gas was 11 cents per gallon cheaper there today!  That's why we joined Sam's in the first place!  Then Dave had to run to Mobile Home Depot and a couple other places.  I stayed home and worked on crossword puzzles.

After lunch I took a bike ride while Bob & Dave put new door knobs and locks on our outside doors.  The old knobs were getting really loose.

Thursday & Friday

Yesterday we went to Sarasota to see Roberta one last time before she moves back to Indiana.  She looked great.  Her son, Scott, and his girlfriend were there too.  It was good to see him and meet Allison.  She seemed very nice.  Dave's nephew and his family were at the pool too.  They went back to Indiana today too.

Last night we all went to PJ's to say goodbye to Barb & Gary.  Barb flew out this morning and Gary leaves in the AM. 

Jami and Danny left today.  Quiet at our place again.

Wednesday

Jami and Danny are here!  It's Danny's spring break, but not the girls'.  They aren't off until Easter week.  Today we went to Sawgrass - saw 12 alligators including one big one!  We took a picnic lunch and ate it at Sawgrass not too far from the big alligator!  He moved during our lunch and we don't know where...makes one pretty uncomfortable when you are only feet from the water and he can't be located! 

Then we went to Fort DeSoto where we were able to see dolphins and lots of birds.  It was a gorgeous day to be out and about.  Took us forever  to get home, though.  We got into big time 5:00 traffic!

Tonight we played farkle!!

Monday

Today was a Red Hat day.  Ten of us went to Miller's Ale House for lunch.  Gayle won the kitty, but we all had good food and a good time!

I was  so sleepy at church today...I almost fell asleep during the sermon.  All the songs were slow so I was very relaxed before the sermon.  Plus, it was warm in there!  Bad mix!

Came home from church and took a nap - a 3 hour one.  I guess I WAS tired!

Since I stayed up so late watching Iowa State men's basketball, I slept in a bit this morning.  I also took a nap this afternoon.  When I got up I rode my bike around the park - 3 miles! 

This evening, we had our annual pasta night.  There weren't many people in attendance, but the ones who were there were well-fed!  You could choose between (or have both) spaghetti or ziti.  Then there were meatballs and sausages as well as salads and lots of desserts!!  We had a good time!

Thursday

What a beautiful day!!  It was a good day for...enjoying America's pastime - baseball.  We went with Bob, Ann, Vicki, Al, and Allison to watch the Phillies play the Blue Jays.  It was made special because Bryce Harper came back from an injury and showed the Phillies why he's worth the $25 million a year they are paying him!  On the first pitch to him in the 1st inning, he hit a home run.  He unfortunately struck out his second at bat.  They walked him the third time and his fourth time at bat, he hit another home run!  Fun!!

Got lots of sun today but it felt really good!  Came home and had pizza with the family.  Then back to our place for jammies and a relaxing evening!

B&B

We had 15 people at bowling this morning.  The more the merrier!  We had a lot of fun, even though we didn't have any 200 games!  Bingo was the same - no big winnings for me!  I am now officially in the hole by $1.00.  I guess it's still pretty cheap entertainment!  I was really close to winning almost every game but I only got to say bingo once and that was for $5.00.  Since I spend $11 each bingo night, I can't say that I won. 

Vicki and her family arrived today.  Unfortunately it was a drizzly, chilly day.  Tomorrow is supposed to be better!

I went out early this morning and rode my bicycle almost 3 miles.  It was a bit brisk and the north wind was blowing quite hard, but I got it done!  Good thing, too.  The rest of the day was really boring.  Dave was off helping other people, so I just hung out!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Hope everyone had a good day today.  We went to church where Pastor Jack gave us a good sermon about unity and division.  Then we came home and I took a long bike ride.   I stopped at some friends' and they talked me into decorating my bike for the parade we were having this afternoon.  I am glad I did it.  The parade was a lot of fun!

After the parade we had a potluck dinner.  Good food.  Unfortunately I ate too much and now I'm stuffed.  I will have to work hard to get my goal weight back this week!

This morning we went to Sawgrass and took Gayle & John.  We saw several small alligators and one large one swimming.  The anhingas are nesting in the same tree again this year.  He was on watch duty while she had nest duty!  Should see babies before we go home!

This afternoon we sat out and talked to Bob for quite a while.  Then it was time to see the ISU basketball game.  We won the Big 12 Championship - what a game!!  We actually led the entire game!

Whew!

THAT was quite a basketball game!  The Cyclones just played their way into the Big 12 Championship game tomorrow.  They'll play either Kansas or West Virginia.  I'm hoping for WV, but it'll probably be KU.

It was another beautiful day here.  I was able to get our tax papers mailed out.  I also went to Sunshine Nails and got a pedicure and my eyebrows waxed.  I was starting to look like my brother!!

When I got home, Dave wanted to go get a tenderloin at Lanore's Nifty 50's Cafe.  She's from Bloomfield, Iowa, and her tenderloins are about as big as the ones at AJ's in Mt Sterling.  Sudi, you and Howard would love them - we did!  Her potato salad is really good, too!

I love Thursdays!

I usually have nothing that I have to do on Thursdays!  Yay!!  That means I can do what I want to do in my time!  I chose to work on tax papers today.  I think I'm pretty organized and hope to get the papers in the mail this week!

Tonight we got to talk to Aidan, but didn't get to see Kaitlyn.  She must have been asleep..  Aidan told us she gets to eat mashed food now!

Wednesday

After coffee this morning, I had to run our HOA membership meeting.  It was short and sweet and I think I did an okay job.  Nobody asked me a question that I couldn't answer - which was good! 

The meeting lasted less than an hour.  Then it was time for shuffleboard.  I had to play my brother in the first game...and I beat him!!  I didn't want to, because I was a redbird filling in for a bluebird...and the redbirds need the points.  I played really well!  Then the second game, I was playing Coreen who is pretty darn good.  She got ahead of me, but near the end of the game I came back.  Going into the last frame, we were tied up.  She put herself in the kitchen and I scored, plus I blocked her from getting her puck out of the -10 situation so I won again!  I felt pretty good about my day!  Unfortunately, my quadriceps hurts pretty bad again tonight.

This afternoon, Bob, Dave and I went to Great Clips to get our hair cut!  I like mine so I'll probably go back to her again.

B&B

It wasn't a very good day at the bowling alley.  I bowled awful.  Then in the 3rd game, I pulled a muscle or something in my left leg and had to withdraw.  Don't know for sure what happened, but it sure hurt.  After lunch at Roosterfish Grill, I came home and iced it and it does feel better, but I still limp  pretty badly.

Bingo was okay.  I almost won back all that I spent.  I was just $2 short.  We only had 11 people at bingo so the pots were pretty low.  I actually bingo'd 3 times.

Monday

I started my day with a board meeting.  Since Sue couldn't be there, as VP I had to take over.  That wasn't too bad.  The big one will be Wednesday when I have to run the membership meeting - eeek!! 

The rest of my day went really fast.  I reconciled two accounts that I never worry about because we hardly ever write checks out of them.  Then I worked on sorting thru our tax papers to see what we have and what we still need.  We're in pretty good shape and should be able to send them to our accountant soon.

Dave paid a couple of bills for us and went to the office to get our vehicle sticker.  I also went to the office for some updates and I played cards, too!  Pretty good day!

Sunday

Church was seriously messed up this morning.  First of all the words wouldn't come up on the screens so we were just standing there instead of singing.  Then the sermon was about being either traditional or progressive on the subject of homosexuality among others.  The sermon was really long because pastor kept comparing what was said about a subject in the old testament with what was said in the new.  Nothing is said about same-sex marriages or homosexuality in the new testament therefore traditionalists believe that the old testament words should apply.  In the end it was all about getting along and working to be united while the legality of the new "edict" is explored.  It will be voted on again next year.

This afternoon, Ann, Anita and I went to see "Anything Goes" at the Largo Cultural Center.  It was a really good production - great music and good acting!  Costumes were good too.  We really enjoyed it!

We're empty-nesters again!  All of our company is gone.  We had a really good time with Don & Bev.  We got the laundry done and the house cleaned!  Now we wait for Jami and Danny to come near the end of the month. 

Today was a perfect day weather-wise.  Not too hot or humid.  In fact, we had the windows open until about 3:00.  It got up to 78 in here before we turned on the a/c.  I got a walk in - lots of people were out and about.

Thursday & Friday

Yesterday was my birthday AND Bev's birthday, so we celebrated.  We went to Tarpon Springs where we shopped and then ate lunch at Hellas. 

This was what we got for our birthday!  Free baklava!  Fun!!  Then more shopping.  I was very tired.  After we got back from Tarpon Springs, we went to PJ's for supper!  So we had a great day!

Today after my meetings with our manager and after my doctor's appointment with my cancer doctor, we packed a picnic lunch and went to the beach off the Courtney Campbell Causeway.  What a beautiful day to be out!  Shortly after we came home, Dave's sister and her hubby drove in from Indiana.  We all had dinner together and then Pat/Milt left for their condo in Bradenton.  Tomorrow, Don/Bev leave to go back to Indiana.  It's been a fun week!

BTW, my doctor's apptment was good!  She said everything looks good!  I have another mammogram the end of April and then again in Oct.

Wednesday

Yesterday was Dave's surgery on his other eye.  All went well and we were home by 10:30!  Most of the afternoon, we rested and then in the evening after Don & Bev got back from visiting Roberta, we played euchre until Dave's eyes were tired.

Today we went sightseeing, but it was almost too cold to get out of the car.  When we went to the dr's office this morning, it was only 48 degrees!!  We took Don & Bev to see Pass-a-Grille and to St Petersburg. 

It was a beautiful day, just too cold to be fun!  I got a bit of a walk in, but not a long one!

Monday

Another fun day!!  Don and Bev got back here around noon.  So after a quick bite of lunch, we took off for some more sightseeing!  This time we went to Largo Nature Park.  We haven't seen an alligator there for 2 years.  Well, we saw one today...a large one!!

After this we went to the Florida Botanical Gardens to see some beautiful plants and trees.  Some of the flowers were beautiful!!

While we were in the area, we had to introduce Don & Bev to ice cream made from fresh oranges.

Sunday

Today at church, we talked about unity.  The UMC Global voted to not per same sex marriages and to not allow LGBQT clergy.  In my opinion, the UMC will lose members because of this ruling.  But at Anona, we are still going to accept ANYONE who walks thru our doors to worship...anyone - gay, straight, tall, short, etc.  I'm glad for that.  God loves all of his children. 

After church we came home for lunch and a nap.  Dave worked on fixing the leak in Bob & Ann's lanai and worked on Gary's roof, too.  This evening I've been editing pictures while Dave is exercising.  Don & Bev went to Wickiwatchee to see her dad & stepmom.  They'll be back in the morning.

Had a fun day today!  Don & Bev came in for a visit -  got here this morning.  They drove all night to get here.  They didn't want to go to bed and waste a beautiful day, so we went to Sawgrass to see the wildlife.  Then we went to Fort DeSoto where we saw dolphins trying to get the fish that the fishermen were hauling in.  This evening we went to Madeira Beach to see the sunset and just enjoy the beach. 

Dinner tonight was at Dockside Dave's after the sunset!!

Great day but boy am I tired and I'm sure they are too!
