What a day!

I had something exciting happen today.  We found a alterations place, so I took 9 items to her to alter smaller.  Then, I had two pair of shorts that were new, but a larger size.  I took them back to Bealls and while I was there, I wanted to exchange them for smaller ones.  Guess what?  I got shorts that were 2 sizes smaller!!  I actually got to shop in the Misses section instead of the Women's section!!  That's a first time for a bunch of years!!

Tomorrow we go to church and then to Tarpon Springs for our Easter on the Beach.  Should be a fun day!

Please keep Baby O in your prayers.  They had to put her back on oxygen, so if she gets to go home Tuesday, she'll still be on oxygen.  Kaylee has come home from the Netherlands to be Oaklyn's caregiver.  Rowyn has a stuffy nose today, so she didn't get to go see her sister.  We were so in hopes that O would stay off of her oxygen.  Keep those prayers coming!  She's so much better and she's growing.

Thursday

Our company is all gone.  We had a wonderful time with Jami and Danny!  Ashley and her family went with us to Sawgrass Lake Park.  The little boys got to see turtles, alligators, anhingas, a limpkin, bit fish, and little fish.  It was a beautiful day to enjoy God's creations.

Tomorrow morning Vicki and her family fly home.  I'll miss seeing their smiling faces every day!

Tuesday

This wasn't a regular Tuesday.  We did bowl, and we went to PJs for lunch.  Then we got ready for our company.  Dave's niece, Ashley and her hubby and 3 little boys along with Jami and Danny came for the afternoon and evening.  We fixed tenderloins and sweet corn.  They were very good!

Sunday

Fabulous sermon today!  Pastor Richard talked about how religious affiliation is going by the wayside, but Anona is making a difference.

Dave and I cleaned house this afternoon.  Vicki's family went to a Phillies game.  We chose not to go.  We're sure having beautiful weather while they're here.  This week we've got Jami and Danny coming over, along with Dave's niece and hubby and 3 little boys.  We're also going to Sarasota to see Dave's nephew and niece and their families.  Bunches of Frushours in one spot.  I'll try to get a good picture!

Saturrday

Got to have breakfast at the clubhouse with Vicki and her family while Bob & Ann helped serve the food.  Dave did dishes and I helped put stuff away.  The rest of the day was spent around here and after the family got back from the beach, we visited for quite a while outside.  The evening was spent here while Vicki's family went to a movie.

Fun Day

Dave and I went to Venice today to visit with my cousin, Sue.  She's a professional horse trainer who brought 7 horses down to Venice for two weeks.  The owners of the horses came down to work with Sue and their horses.  We watched her work with 4 girls and their horses.  They were working on both barrels and poles.  The horses knew exactly what to do, but the girls were needing a little more work.  When she got done working with the girls we three went to Snook Haven for lunch.  It's on the Myakka River - a little bit of Louisiana in the west coast of Florida.  Oh my gosh, it smelled so good!!  We sat outside in the midst of moss-covered trees.  Cool place!

We left there about 2:30.  Came back home after a detour so Dave could get a chiropractor adjustment.  Vicki and her family had gotten in around 1:00 and after a quick lunch at the original Hooters, Vicki and Allison were at the pool catching some rays.  Allison looked a bit burned - hope she doesn't hurt tomorrow!  I went up and sat with them for about an hour.  Then came home, at a bit of a salad, and went up to play cards!

Busy two days

I didn't realize that I didn't blog last night.  I had a busy day. I got all of our bank accounts reconciled, got the newsletter and calendar finished and sent off to print.  We had coffee in the morning and I was able to talk to our manager about the directory.  She said she'd get it printed and get 200 copies back to me asap.  I had the stack by the end of the day.  Unfortunately she didn't print the pages on both sides so I had to call her again today.  She's one of those people who does things half-assed, so not only were they printed wrong, but they were also formatted wrong.  When I print them and when Sue prints the directory, they're fine.  When our manager did them, the page breaks were wrong and the leaders for the paragraphs weren't there.  So she's got to do them over.  Now I don't know when I'll get them.

Today I dealt with all of those issues - I'm still not sure she gets it.  She isn't the smartest.  I also wrote up a petition and then went to WW where I lost another 2 lbs...I'm now 20.2 pounds down in 11 weeks!  That was my first goal.  My next goal is another 10 lbs!   Tonight we played Jack's Card game.  I won runner-up for women and Bob won runner-up for men.  Dave didn't play...silly guy!

Tuesday

B&B weren't so good today.  I didn't bowl well and I only won a tiny bit of money at bingo.  To add to all of that, I didn't even get a nap!  Pretty bad day, huh?!

We did get a bit of rain and a little thunder, but even that wasn't much.

Fun Day

We had a fun day today.  Met several high school friends at Woody's in Ellenton for lunch.  It was hot in the sun, but we had a good time regardless!

Sunday

Great sermon today about science and religion and how the two should not be separated.  Science is proving Genesis correct!  Very thought-provoking.

We didn't go out to eat today because we ate out twice yesterday and we're going out tomorrow for lunch.  We always go out to lunch on Tuesday, so this week is going to be hard to keep up with my WW points.  I'll have to eat zero point foods when I can!

I did paperwork today - got caught up with the bank reconciliations.  That was a good thing to get done.  We had the windows open today and it felt so good.

Saturday

I didn't sleep very well last night, so after I'd been up about an hour or so I went back to bed.  This time I woke up at noon!  I must have been really tired!

This evening we had our annual baked potato bar.  BIG baked potatoes with tons of stuff to put on them!  Also tons of desserts!  I was good, though.  I only ate about 1/3 of my potato with a bit of butter and some steamed broccoli on the side.  For dessert, I had one bite of the coconut cake that Ann made.

After we'd eaten, we had a talent show.  Several residents showed off their talents.  We had lip sync-ers, good singers, and a couple of comedy acts.  Hopefully next year more will participate.  Regardless it was a fun evening!

Fun Day

We sure had a fun day today.  We went to the Legion where we met Bob, Ann, Ron, Marcia, Gary and Barb.  It was a beautiful day there...a bit chilly, but the sun was warm and the dolphins were plentiful!  This evening we spent with Dave's cousins at Mad Beach Fish House and then in their condo on the beach.  Nancy, Charlie, Mark, Diane, Joe, Becky, and Carrie are fun people.  We just got home a little bit ago!  The restaurant was good, but eating out twice in one day was a little much!

Thursday

I have the taxes ready to send to the accountant - yay!!  Unfortunately we're missing one K1, but I'll work on that tomorrow and send it in later.  I also got several of the credit card bills printed and sorted into categories for recording purposes.  I do not like doing this, so I put it off for several months.

I had a chiro appointment this morning and WW this evening.  Good report on both!

Weds.

Coffee this morning, followed by on month HOA meeting.  We put our feelings on the line today and our residents backed us up.  We've got a real problem here with our manager and need some help to solve our issues.  She refuses to work with us and tells everyone a different story.  Plus, now the regional manager has washed his hands of us.

Tuesday

B&B day again.  I can't believe we're less than a month from bowling being over.  Actually we're only about 6 weeks from going back north.  I'm hoping it gets warm up there before the first week of May.  I will not be happy if we go back to cold!

Bowling was just okay and bingo was a little better.  At least I came out on top tonight - I won more than I spent!

Sunday

Pastor Jack was ill today, so Pastor Richard gave the sermon on the confrontations of Jesus.  Richard is a great teacher.  He covers so much info in his 20 minutes or so.  Love to hear what he has to say.  All 3 of our pastors are good, but each has his own unique style.

We came home after church so we could eat some of the food we have here.  I worked on cleaning up my files on my computer.  I got rid of a bunch of files!!

Saturday

It was a bit chilly when I was taking my walk today, but that's all right.  I just went a bit faster!  I didn't stop to talk to anyone except once either!

Dave actually worked at church again this morning for a couple of hours.  I got everything loaded on my new computer AND I've even put the old one to rest.  If I find I'm missing some things, I can still resurrect it.  I think, though, I'll give it to Buddy to erase and use for parts.  He's a friend who is like Bryan, he can tear anything apart and rebuild it - bikes, computers, etc.

Friday

Chilly here today!  In fact tonight I'm cold!  Bring back our Florida!

Pretty quiet around here today.  I worked on getting everything off of this computer so that I can install it on my new computer.  I got the new one set up today.  It had hours of Windows 10 updates.  I'm glad that's done.  The new screen is so bright and crisp.  It's going to be so nice to use!

Thursday

Darn!  Who opened the refrigerator door again?  It's cold here!  I know it's all relative, but 40s at night is really cold here.  It got up to 71 or so today, but with the wind blowing, it wasn't warm!

My new computer came in today.  I hope to work on it tomorrow!

At WW, I only lost .2 of a pound...but at least I didn't gain!

70?!?!!!

I'm having a very hard time believing that I'm 70!  I'm sure glad I feel good because I don't feel like I think I should at 70!  I did, however, take a nap today!!

Received good news today.  Here's what Kyle had to say about Oaklyn:  Oaklyn is doing well today. Very stable, getting better at breathing each day (maintaining her oxygen saturation levels with a lower breathing rate than a couple of days ago). That’s a good sign that her lungs are conditioning well as she gets used to breathing more on her own. And she’s slowly making small weight gains and growing. Slow & steady improvement each day. She’s comfortable & doing well. Hand & arm flexibility seems quite a bit improved today compared to a few days ago. Mostly sleeping and resting up, as she’s burning quite a few calories getting acclimated to breathing.

Here she is today:

And this is Rowyn:

B&B

I'm sure thankful for the beautiful weather we've been having!  I'm also very thankful that Oaklyn is off her breathing tube.  She's still getting oxygen, but at least she doesn't have a tube down her throat any more.  Now if she can just learn the sucking response, maybe she'll get off her feeding tube too.  I'm ever so thankful for her medical team who must love her as much as we do by now.  As for Rowyn, she's rolling over every day and growing!  They're only 7 weeks old - tough little girls!

Bowling was just okay and bingo was just okay too.

Monday

I decided to go to play shuffleboard this morning, but I had a bit of a problem and left.  Had a good night at cards tonight.

I broke my computer though.  Actually I didn't break it, it just broke.  After looking it up online, a bunch of people reported that their HP hinges broke.  So I wasn't alone.  Unfortunately, the only way to fix it is to find a used model just like mine and switch the innards.  It would still be susceptible to more hinge breaks.  Dave told me to order myself a new computer.  I got a Dell.  No more HPs for me!

Sunday

Loved church this morning!!  Pastor Jack preached a sermon based on a Billy Graham story about the Kingdom of God being like a lone flower.  Wonderful story by a great man.  After church we went to Peter's for lunch.

In the afternoon, we had massages and my computer hinge broke in two.  I'm going to try to get it fixed, but if I can't I'll get myself a new Dell 'cause I've never liked this HP!

Saturday

Dave and I went to the clubhouse this morning to see if there was anything in the Chinese Auction that we couldn't live without.  Then we went to Sam's Club and to WalMart  to get some things that we needed.  Dave worked a lot of the afternoon, boxing up what was left to take to AmVets.  I wonder how much we made?

Tonight the Indian Hills Warriors are playing for the Regional title.  They're ahead by about 25 points so they've got this sewn up!

Friday

It was sure cooler here today - no humidity.  I'm not sure I like that!  Tonight, however, the humidity is back.  The clubhouse looks like a huge garage sale.  It's all set up for the Chinese Auction tomorrow.  Lots and lots of good stuff...if you need stuff!

Tonight at cards, we only had 6 people and we were behind by 4,000+ points at the end of the first hand.  Unfortunately, it didn't get better the entire game.  Our opponents kept saying things that irritated me tonight.  Maybe I should stay away from cards for a week or so...hmmm.

Me Day

On Thursdays I always have a "me" morning, but today I had a whole "me" day!  I lounged around all morning while Dave was working lawn crew.  Then I got my hair cut just before lunch.  After lunch I had a pedicure and tonight was a weight watchers meeting where I lost another 2 pounds.  Hooray for me!!

Twenty-four hours after Oaklyn had her breathing tube removed, she's still doing well - Hooray for Baby O!!  Thank you, God!
