Sunday

After church this morning (online) I got busy culling out some of my stamping supplies that I haven't used for a long time.  I've put them in totes for the time being - I had to make room for my alcohol ink supplies!  I haven't figured out what I'm going to do with them yet.  I may donate them to the condo association.  We're having a yard sale at some point this summer and I'm thinking some of them might sell pretty well.  We'll see.

Dave went to Bryan's after lunch.  He took the camper out there to clean the outside of it.  Since he was there until after 5:00, I got a bunch of cards put together.  I don't have any sentiments on them yet.  That'll be another day.

Saturday

This morning we went to pick up the camper from Kyle's place.  Their house is so pretty with it's new edition and it's marine blue siding and white trim.  Got to see Blaise - he wanted me to see their ducks.  We talked from a distance.  He's a good boy!

Dave worked on cleaning out the clean water tanks and helped a couple upstairs tear out some cupboards.  They have no clue what they're doing.  I told him to tell them to watch HGTV's Property Brothers to see how they demolish cupboards!  I busied myself in my craft studio...played with some inks!

We waited until about 5:00 to take our walk.  It was beautiful here today - almost chilly!  Perfect for walking!!

Friday

We cleaned house today - Dave vacuumed while I dusted and put things away.  I got the best end of the deal!  Vacuuming is hard on my back!  I also tried to get our printer up and running.  I got it done, but the heads on the ink cartridges had dried out.  So I went to Staples to get new cartridges...they were out.  I should get my cartridges Monday.  Grrr...

Thursday

This was one of those days where we ran around all day!  We first had to have the SRX to the service center at 8:00 this morning...so off go both red SUVs.  Then we stopped at Fareway to get some fresh fruit.  Home for a short bit, then off to pick up the SRX and drop off the Rogue to have a recall fixed.  Just got home and had a bite of lunch when Nissan called to say the Rogue was done...so off we go to pick it up.  Had our first chocolate shake of the season at 4 Queens, then home for a nap.  All of this was done in the rain - it rained all morning long.

Sometime during our nap it cleared up.  After supper we went for our walk - beautiful evening for a walk.  It's supposed to be cool for tonight.  We may have to open a window.  No A/C all day today or tonight - yay!!

Wednesday

Dave went to mow at Bryan's this morning, so I took a walk by myself again.  It was a beautiful day for a walk...not too hot, but a bit humid.  At 10:00 I sat down to watch "The View".  They're doing some construction upstairs and from 10 to 10:45 it was LOUD!  I said outloud, "I only watch 1 tv show and that's when you choose to do your sawing or whatever!"  He quit about 10:45 so I got to hear the last little bit of the show without turning the volume up.

When Dave got home, we ate our lunch, then this afternoon we took a nap.  This evening after supper, we had a visitor on our balcony:

I believe from what I can figure out that it's a red tailed hawk.  He is really big - probably about 17" from the top of his head to the tip of his tail.  He is very imposing looking.  The blue jays kept dive bombing him, trying to get him to move.  He's gone finally, but I'm afraid he'll get our hummingbirds.

Tuesday

I had to go for my walk alone today.  Dave was involved in a meeting with a contractor about the basement walls, followed by a board meeting.  Everyone stayed with the social distancing and everyone wore masks.  I walked to the cemetery and around it, then came back.  I was so hot that I turned the A/C on just to have lunch.  When I finally cooled down, I turned it back off and opened the doors again.  It was wonderful air coming into the condo...until it rained!  Then the rain tried to come in, so I closed them again.  We had another brief downpour this evening.

Memorial Day

We walked the cemetery today.  It was very warm and sticky!  Walking 2 miles here is so much harder than walking  2 miles in Florida.  Nothing is level and there wasn't much of a breeze until later.  After our walk, I wanted to go see how the highway looked after the construction was done on it.  It is amazing.  They really made it look nice.  We also went to Lowe's and bought some flowers for the balcony and a tomato plant.

This afternoon around 4:30 I got to do a video call with Bryan, Erin, and the two littles.  Dave was downstairs in the Nissan trying to get the Sirius XM switched from the Cadillac.  He get back up here about the time I was done visiting.  Kaitlyn showed me her hair, her nose, her eyes, her ears, and her tummy.  She also pointed to her Daddy, her Mommy, and Aidan when I asked her where they each were.  She also blew me kisses.  Aidan was playing with his water table so he took me on a tour of  it...it grabbed the phone and showed it to me!

It was a good day! We even ate outside on the balcony for supper!

Sunday

We got some more rain today.  At one point it got really dark and the wind picked up, but it just rained.  No lightning, thunder - just rain.  There's lightning south of here right now.

We walked around the neighborhood today - instead of walking in  the cemetery.  Dave had gone out to pick up some groceries at Sam's.  When he came home, he said that the cemetery had lots of people milling about so that's why we walked in the 'hood!

Dave went to Bryan's to look for mushrooms.  He found a few so he'll be having them tomorrow.

Saturday

We got a bunch of rain today.  Dave said it poured before I got up.  One thing that's really nice about living on the 2nd floor of a 3 floor building is that you don't hear the rain unless it's coming sideways and hitting your windows.  I didn't hear it at all!

The Mediacom guy came today to install our cable and internet.  We've been using our Jetpack from Verizon since we didn't have internet.  This is what we use in the camper to have internet.

This afternoon the sun finally came out and it was beautiful, so we put on our masks and walked to the cemetery.  We didn't get 2 miles in...the little hills in the cemetery and on Westchester about did us in.  We hadn't walked since Tuesday!  Felt good though!

Friday

Today was our first full day of quarantine...well sort of quarantine.  Dave took stuff down to the garage and we both went to the lobby to see what has been accomplished there.  Neal has done a wonderful job of stripping wallpaper and painting the walls.  Someone slipcovered some of our chairs and they look wonderful.  We also got almost everything put away today.  The laundry is done and all clothes are hung up.  Plus, we both took naps and then sat outside on the balcony.  It wasn't warm enough to want to sit out there long, but we at least got some fresh air.  I had the balcony door open for a while, but Dave got cold so I had to shut it.

Thursday

We are home safely...Thank God!  We were on the road for 24 hours.  We were able to make our goal the first day, so we were able to do our trip in two days.  I'm exhausted and Dave is like the energizer bunny!  He's still working away whereas I'm DONE!!  I figure we have 14 days to do things - we'll pretty much quarantine except for going out walking.  Silly Dave!  We don't have to do everything tonight.

Tuesday

The car is packed except for my computer and pillow, Dave's C-Pap, etc...AND IT'S FULL!!  I'm wondering why.  Dave said 90% of it is food - canned goods, 3 coolers of frozen food, cold food, etc.

We're hoping to be on the road by 5:00.  Say a prayer for safe travels for us.  Hope to update you tomorrow night!

Monday

We had thunder and lightning today.  We got some rain, too, but we had already put away the rain gauge so we have no clue how much.  We were supposed to meet Sudi & Howard to sit outside and visit this morning, but that didn't happen.  So we just had to say goodbye over the phone.  :(  This afternoon, I had my teeth cleaned and had a fluoride treatment - yucky stuff.

The rest of the day was spent packing the car and cleaning up.  We ordered chicken strips from Cheddar's and after supper, we walked.  At least it was cool after a day with no sunshine.

Sunday

I did my 3 church services this morning and then was ready for the day.  We walked early this morning and late this evening - the feels like temperatures were too high during the rest of the day.  We did a lot of packing today.  My clothes are pretty much packed.  Obviously we have to get stuff out of the fridge, but most of the kitchen is ready too.  I think we're way ahead of schedule!  Plus I have my newsletter ready to go to the printers as soon as I get the manager's blurb.

I'm writing this so I don't forget these facts.  At our Pop the Trunk event at church last Saturday, we collected over $12,000 in cash and over 6 1/2 tons of food - that's 13,000 pounds of food.  Wow!  Great event, Anona.  All of the food was going to local food pantries, etc.

Saturday

Well, just like the weather, things have changed.  We started getting stuff ready to go today and now we've decided to take off on Weds!  I knew that would happen.  We don't want to drive over the Memorial Day weekend, so we're going to go before it!  We made really good progress today.  I've got the canned goods, etc., from the kitchen packed, plus I've gone thru drawers and pulled out things we need to take.  Dave has to pack his personal stuff...I don't do that.  He doesn't do mine, either.  Won't take us long.

Friday

Poor Dave had a dental cleaning at 8:00 this morning, which meant that I could sleep in...NOT!  I got up at 6:37!!  I guess I felt bad about him having to get up so early!  We both took naps this afternoon!

Today was kind of a boring day!  I did some reading and we were able to get groceries.  We're trying to stockpile some groceries so that when we get home, we will have groceries enough for our 14 day quarantine.  Some things we've got plenty of and others we can't really stockpile - like lettuce and tomatoes, etc.

Thursday

We had a good day here.  After our walk this morning,  Dave went to get the house paint can from our shed.  He couldn't find it and he didn't know how he was going to match it.  I told him I was sure I had the paint chips someplace.  I went looking for them in the drawer where I keep all the current paperwork...not there.  But while I was there, I filed all of the paperwork.  I looked in a few more drawers before I found them.  While I was in the drawers, though, I took things out that I wanted to take to Iowa with me.

I correspond with a man from Ottumwa who is challenged.  For some reason he's picked me (and Dave) for penpals, although Dave doesn't write him.  He and his mom went to our church there in O-town.  He's probably close to 60, but seems much younger.  Anyway, I got a letter out to him today.  I also baked cookies and finished the graduation cards for Kelly and Allison.  I wrote the checks and a message in each card and got them ready for the mail.  Our passports are set to expire in October, so got everything together, wrote the checks and Dave took them to the UPS store for mailing.

Took our second walk of the day this evening.  Now I'm ready for bed.  Dave has his teeth cleaned at 8:00 AM!!

After breakfast, we did our morning walk.  Came home, showered, and went to get a pedicure.  While I was there, they talked me into having my nails done too.  I was also able  to get my eyebrows waxed.  I think I'm finally renewed!  All that's left is getting my teeth cleaned and that will happen Monday afternoon if all goes as planned.

We worked on some paperwork this afternoon.  We also found out that our mail is already being forwarded to Iowa...it wasn't supposed to go until the 22nd.  Don't know how that happened.

At 9:00 I started calling my Supercuts to see if the lady who cuts my hair could do that today.  After about 15 minutes I got my appointment and got in at 3:00 to get a haircut!  Yay!!  Tomorrow I'm having a pedicure and my eyebrows done.  I really need those done, too.  We also went to the UPS store and had passport pictures taken because our passports expire in October.

We walked this evening, but I felt like I'd had a very busy day!

Monday

After breakfast, Dave and I took our cameras and masks and went to Eagle Lake Park thinking there wouldn't be a lot of people there.  There were several people - all either walking, running, or biking.  We were pretty much able to stay 6' away from everyone, though.  When we got done there, we stopped at Largo Nature Preserve to finish our walk.  We met a guy pushing two kids in a stroller on the boardwalk, but that's all.  It was fun being out in nature again!

Didn't do much else, although we took a short walk this evening to take a ladder to a lady at the north end of the park.

Happy Mother's Day!

We had a nice day today - very quiet, but nice!  After our morning walk, Dave ran to Sam's Club to pick up a couple of things.  We both watched our three church services and ate a late lunch.  Both kids called today.  We got to do a video call with Bryan's family.  Sure do miss those little ones!  Hope to be able to see them soon after we get back to Iowa.

Saturday

Today after our morning walk, we went to our church for their first Pop The Trunk event.  We bought high protein non-perishable foods for those in our city who are struggling right now.  We didn't get out of the car - we just popped our back door open and the volunteers (all masked) got the food out.  Other volunteers were sorting the food into individual bags.  Still others had made masks and were handing them out to everyone who wanted one.  Good project!!

We stopped at Yellow Banks Grove and got our last orange/vanilla ice cream cone for the season.  We're going to head home around the 26th depending on the weather between here and there, of course.  We'll miss out on decorating the graves this year, but this virus has changed many traditions.  We're planning to quarantine except for our daily walks when we get home, but since we've been self-isolating for about 2 months, we won't have to completely quarantine.

We  had another pretty day here today.  Our walks today took longer than usual.  Lots of people were outside and were very talkative today!

When we got back from our walk and after The View, I vacuumed and cleaned up the kitchen.  Didn't do much else today.  Now I'm listening to Maddie Poppe live from Clarksville, Iowa!  She won American Idol two years ago.

Thursday

What a gorgeous day!!  This day was perfect as far as I'm concerned!!  Didn't even break a sweat while we were walking!!

After our morning walk, I did some ink backgrounds!

These are both framable.  I was very happy with both of them.  I  did two others later that will just be cut into card backgrounds:

I'll be using these to make 2 graduation cards - one for our granddaughter, Kelly, and one for Allison.

The rest of our day was just like most days...pretty boring!

Wednesday

Another hot day today, but we made it through both of our walks!  The ladies who bought Gary's home moved in yesterday (we met both of them and one of their dogs today) and the people across the street are moving out.  I don't mind seeing them go - their dog gets tied outside on a chain and he rushes out toward you when you go by.  He sounds kind of fierce, but when we say his name, he calms right down.  We've been walking a different route around the park, so we haven't seen the German Shepherd for several days!

Dave helped me again today.  We got the books alphabetized and put on the shelves.  Yay!  Our manager manages two parks so she is going to take some of the books to her other park for their library.  We're trying to find homes for the other 8-10 boxes!

Tuesday

Dave and I did our morning walk early this morning, then we went to the clubhouse to work on books.  The ladies in the park said there were probably 10 to 12 boxes of books that we got from a thrift store.  Being the librarian in the park, I needed to go through them and decide which ones we would keep for our library and which ones would go to the Largo Library for their book sale.  First of all, there weren't 10-12 boxes...there were more like 20!!  I went through the books, keeping a bunch and Dave took all of the ones I rejected to put them back into boxes to donate.  Next step is to go through the books we already have and integrate the new ones.  That means I have to reject a bunch of the old books because we don't have a lot of room in our little "library".  That's another day's project!

This afternoon, Dave had an appointment with his retina specialist.  Since he was going to have his eyes dilated, I needed to go with him.  I, however, chose to stay in the car.  I was able to park in some shade so it wasn't too hot.  I rolled the windows down and read while he was in the doctor's office.  His eyes are doing much better.  The problem he was experiencing was mostly likely due to allergies and excessive pollen in the air.

We walked again this evening.

We had a good day.  Didn't do too much, We got both walks in.  Dave helped Laurie finish her painting job while I worked on pictures and on renewing our passports..  Now we just have to get our pictures taken.  I guess CVS does them, but of course it's not the CVS that is next door!  Oh well, it gives us something to do!

Sunday

We had another beautiful day to walk today.  Our first walk was before 9:00 so it was still cool out.  Then our evening walk was around 7:15 so the sun was down behind the trees!  Plus, we've figured out a route where we have little chance of running into the German Shepherd!  I'm very glad about that!  That dog scares me  to death!

I worked on enhancing some of my photographs today while Dave took a nap.  This evening he beat me again in dominoes.  We're going to change to Farkle for something different!  Maybe I'll have a chance to win!

Wow, that week went by without us being aware of it!  Don't quite know how it did that, but all of a sudden it's Saturday night.

I got up, showered, and then didn't do much all day.  I did finish a book that I think I'd already read, but it was good so I just kept reading.

Sorry, it's pretty boring around here so nothing to report!

Happy May Day!  Remember when May Day was so fun?  I remember "dancing" around a Maypole and May Day baskets!  I wonder if anyone still does those things..

Our walk this morning was a little short.  A tree company was here trimming the palm trees. They were on  4th Street when we walked so we had to skip it.  We were only 500 steps short, but we didn't get it made up in our evening walk.  Perfect weather again today.
