Beautiful

It was a pretty day here.  Dave went to Bryan's and worked on cleaning up downed limbs from the storms last night...when you live in a forest it's a never-ending job.  I worked on Christmas cards.  I was able to listen to Pandora on my computer, so that was nice.  I had music I liked all day!

Now I'm watching the Cubs get beat...again.  Darn them any way.  Dave said watching last year was more fun!

More Gray

It was cloudy here today...and still is.  I hope the sun comes out tomorrow.  There were some pretty bad storms north of us.

We had a good day.  Dave worked on projects for the condo assn. and I worked on Christmas cards.  I got another element of them done today.  I have a sore tricep from doing so much stamping!!

Weds.

I did some stamping today.  My fingers look like I've been working with blackberries - stained that color!  I've washed them about 10 times since I finished and they are starting to look better!  I'm also done with that color for a while!  I'm working on Christmas cards.  Can you believe it?

Tonight I watched the Cubs get beat again, while also watching the radar.  Big storms in the area but mostly missed us.  We got some rain, but not the hail and 70 mph winds they were predicting.  We had the most gorgeous double rainbow!

Tuesday

Another chilly day in the neighborhood.  It looked beautiful outside, so we ate lunch on the balcony.  I about froze!!

I had a boring day. Finished a book and watched the Cubs lose...how's that for boring?  Dave cut and stacked a bunch of wood at Bryan's.

Monday

Beautiful day here today!  We got our house mostly cleaned today before we went shopping.  We went to the bank, to Sam's Club for gas, then into Sam's Club to return some mugs we bought that didn't keep drinks cold for even 4 hours - they said they would keep them cold for 24 hours.  No questions asked even though we didn't have our receipt.  Our membership card tracks all purchases.  Then we were off to Walmart and to Fareway.  Brought the groceries home - all before our chiropractor  appointment at 2:00!  Whew!

Now we're watching the Cubs...another nail biter.  We're ahead 5-3 in the 9th - 2 outs, runners at 1st and 2nd and Bryce Harper up to bat.  OMGosh!  Nervous!!  Now bases are loaded.  Come on Cubs!  Wild pitch - now 5-4, runners on 2nd & 3rd.  Whew!  Cubs win!!

Sunday

It is so cold here today!  The high was only 67 and the wind was blowing pretty hard, so it didn't begin to feel like 67!  We went to church and then to Newton's for breakfast and Dave had to go to the car to get our jackets...only 4 people were brave enough to eat outside...and we weren't two of them!

Dave went to be with Bryan today and I stayed here, under a blanket!!

Saturday

We got a little more sun today!!  We had a ball game at 10:45 and then another at 4:00 today, so we got plenty of sun!  The Trojans won their first game, but lost the 2nd game 1-0.  It was quite a pitcher's dual.  Tied at the end of regulation and the other team won in the 2nd OT inning.  Allison pitched the first game.  We got behind early on a couple of errors, but came back and won 11-4!

It's been a fun weekend.

Sun & Softball!

Fun day in the sun in Iowa City.  Allison pitched the first game, which we won in 3 innings 12-0.  She had a couple of good hits, too.  That was against Tipton.  Then  the second game was against Woodward=Granger and we won it 24-4 in 5 innings!  Allison as the DH in it and again had a couple of really good hits!

Tomorrow's another softball day in Iowa City!

Thursday

Rain again  off and on today.  Sure looks like rain again tonight.  It's 82 at 8:00 - and very sticky!  Today I tried to do some stamping, but I think it's safe to say that I got more ink on my hands than I did on the paper!  Unfortunately it's Blackberry Bliss ink, so it's very noticeable.  I'm going to try again, but if it doesn't go better, I'm afraid I'll be getting rid of a bunch of Stampin' Up stuff.  :(

Dave went to Bryan's again.  He's having fun out there.  This evening we went to Waverly to the Pour House to listen to the Vette Band.  Clayton, his brother Ryan, and his dad Brett played at the Butler Co. Fair today and then they had a 2 hour gig tonight.  They're really pretty darn good!  Clayton has a very good voice for country music.

Wednesday

We had a wet day today.  The day started out rainy and ended up rainy, but in between it was lovely!  Dave went out to the farm to work on Bryan's workshop and he took a bunch of wood to Waverly for Linda and Al's fire pit.  I, meanwhile, was on chat for 3 hours trying to get our printer working with my laptop. After 3 hours and 3 technicians, it finally works!  I guess it just took a woman tech to get it done right!

Tonight we had salads for supper, along with ice cream and the rest of our raspberries.  Guess we'll have to pick some more this weekend!

Tuesday

I had a very frustrating day!  For some reason my printer isn't working and I've tried to reload it 3 times...failed 3x!  Tomorrow I will call HP and see if they can help me re-install it.  It's not even showing up on my computer.  It was working, but just this week the electricity has gone out 2-3 times because of lightning...now it's MIA!

Dave went to the farm (Bryan's) and while he was there he picked some black raspberries.  So tonight we had ice cream and berries.  Yum!!

Monday

What a beautiful day we had here...70s and no humidity...AND sunshine!  Dave went out to Bryan's and loaded some wood to take to Linda and Al for their fire ring.  We'll deliver it there probably Weds.  Then Thursday night we're going to Waverly to listen to Clayton, his brother, and his dad play at a bar there.  Should be fun.  Clayton is the main singer and he's pretty good.  Maybe we'll even get to see Blaise!

I had a pedicure today and a massage!  Fun day for me.  Aidan went to "school" today.  This was his first day at day care.  Hope he got along okay!

God's Day

After a light breakfast and getting ready, we went to church  where we had another good sermon.  This one was from our Assoc. Pastor.  She started a 5 week series from the Psalms today.

We then went to lunch at the Screaming Eagle.  It was good, but I really wanted bacon and eggs and they don't serve breakfast.  This afternoon was for resting (and napping in Dave's case), and watching the Cubs.

Tonight he started watching some weird, science fiction movie and I zoned out on my computer...wasn't for me!

Fun Day

Today we went to The Wild Carrot for lunch.  It was especially nice because Kaylee was our server and Linda (her mom) came to have lunch with us!  We sat and gabbed for a long time.  It was great to see Kaylee cause we hadn't seen her since last August!  We were hoping that Blaise would be with Linda, but he was at his other grandma's today.

FRIDAY

Now it's really Friday!  Tomorrow Bryan leaves for Germany for a week.  Ann's in Africa.  What are we doing?  Nothing!!

I did get my hair cut this afternoon and tried to get a pedicure, but the wait was a bit longer than I wanted.  Dave and I went out to Carlos O'Kelly's this evening.  Then we watched the Cubs game and now it's lightning again.  I know we needed rain, but I'm ready for a sunshine kind  of day!

Friday?

Nope...wrong again.  It's only Thursday.  I've made this mistake numerous times today!!  I guess I'm a slow learner!

We had another hot, humid day...90 again, but felt hotter.  Tonight we had rain, lightning, thunder, and even hail.  We were at Bryan's for supper and drove home in rain, but at least the hail was done.  The sky was so pretty, but very ominous looking.

WWD

This was a Wild Weather Day!  When I got up I noticed that it had rained.  Then mid morning, it poured...then it hailed...then more heavy rain!  Finally this afternoon, we even had some sunshine.  All of this with 88 degrees!

Dave worked at Bryan's most of the day.  I dusted and vacuumed!  Then this evening we had our annual meeting downstairs.

Tired Tuesday

I caught up on some much needed sleep today.  Unfortunately I've been awaking around 6:15 AM and that's just not acceptable!  I finally got up about 7:15, but I took an hour nap this afternoon!  Dave escaped to Bryan's for a few hours - that is his relaxation!

Tonight I went to a PEO meeting.  I enjoyed it very much.  The ladies all seemed nice, so I've decided to transfer to this chapter.

We're home!!

Dave drove 425 miles today, pulling the camper.  The funny thing was, when we got home, he got in the SRX and drove to the grocery store too.  I guess he wasn't tired of driving!!  We made it home in 8.5 hours today.  It took us 9 hours to get there, but 30 minutes less to get home!  Lots of traffic on I80 - the Hot Rod Power Tour was driving from Newton to Davenport so we met LOTS of cool old cars!!  Unfortunately, I think every 18 wheeler in America was on the road today too.  So it wasn't a stress-free drive!

Thank you, Lord, for getting us home safely.  The laundry is done and the sheets and towels are folded and ready to go back to the camper for the next trip!

More family

Today was a long day with a lot of family!!  We celebrated 99 years of life for my father-in-law's only living sister, Dave's Aunt Charlotte.  There were about 45 of us and everyone had a great time, visiting and eating, and looking at pictures of past get-togethers.  After the late lunch in Lafayette, we all came back to the campgrounds and gathered again for pizza and more visiting.  I've got a ton of pictures to go through before I can put them on FB for the family to see.  Hopefully I'll get that done tomorrow.

Fun Day

It was another hot day in Indiana and more cousins arrived.  Now there were 14 of us here at the park.  So 7 cousins and 7 spouses.  I think I heard that 12 of 17 cousins are to be here tomorrow for Aunt Charlotte's 99th birthday party!!

It poured tonight so we elected to stay in our camper instead of underneath a canopy.  We're much warmer and dryer!!

Thursday

Enjoyed another beautiful Indiana day today!  We cooked lunch on the grill - we were by ourselves for lunch today.  Then we headed for Logansport to help the rest of the family power wash the outside of Roberta's house.  After the guys got done power washing a side, then the ladies washed the windows.  We made a pretty good team!  Then supper for 9 around a small table!  Fun family times!

Now we're home in our camper and getting ready for bed.  Tomorrow's another busy day!

Fun times!

We're having a great time in Indiana.  The time here has me all mixed up, though.  It's an hour ahead of us in Iowa...just like Eastern time.  So at 9:00 it's still daylight!!  It's a bit easier to sleep in though!

On Monday when we got here, there was only time to eat our pizza and hang out by the river for a short time before retiring for the night.  Yesterday we had to pick up some groceries and then we went to Pat & Milt's for supper.  Yum!  Today Dave went in to Don & Bev's for a couple of hours.  When he got home, he took a nap and then we had to make sandwiches because Don, Bev, Nancy, Charlie, and we were going fishing.  What a beautiful place!  It's a private quarry that 4 young guys bought for half a million dollars and it is a beauty.  The water is very clear and blue!  Everyone fished but me - I sat in the sun and read a book!  Every once in a while, I'd just stop and admire the scenery.  It was 10 before we got home!

Tomorrow Don & Bev, Suzy & Greg, Pat & Milt and Dave & I are going to Roberta's in the afternoon to wash the outside of her house (the guys).  We ladies will then wash the outside of her windows.  She's fixing dinner for us all, so that'll be fun.

We made it!

We left at 9 this morning and made it here at 6 this evening - 9 hours of bumpy highway, lots of highway construction, and wind!  It really wasn't horrible, it's just that I don't drive the truck with the camper, so I get really, really bored!

We made it safely though, even stopped long enough to pick up a pizza in Logansport...yay for cell phones!!  Good pizza...lots like the old George's...good and greasy!!

Sounds like our week is planned!

Hot Sunday!!

Another hot day here - over 90 again.  It wasn't so humid today at least!  We went to church and then out to lunch at Village Inn.  We had a $10 gift card and our bill came to $10.19...we weren't even trying!  Then we had some shopping to do, so we headed to Walmart and got all that done.

This afternoon we got things ready for the camper.  Dave took all of that outside.  Now we don't have much left to load.  Just the last minute things. We will take off for Indiana by mid morning.  Tonight we went to Bryan's for a cookout.  Aidan was going 100 miles an hour!  He's starting to say some words finally.  His latest is pizza!!

We got home in time to see the Cubs sweep the Cardinals!

Slave driver!!

I've decided that Dave is a slave driver and I'm the slave he's driving!  This morning when I got up, he'd cleaned out another closet of totes and had them on the couch and the chairs in the living room.  Guess who got to go through them and condense them down.  More purging!!

Since I was on a roll, I thought I'd work some in my sewing area.  I have two plastic sets of drawers under my design table.  I should say, had two.  I now have 1!!  I was then able to get my doll buggy and doll cradle under the table where the one set of drawers vacated!  Now I don't have to worry about getting rid of either the cradle or the buggy, at least for a while.  They're hidden from sight!

After Dave and I ate lunch out on the balcony, he went to  Bryan's for a work day!  He loves that!!  I worked on some more applique and watched the Cubs!

It was hot here today - got up to 92!  In fact it's still 81 at 9:34 PM!  Pretty hot for this early in June!

More purging!

Dave decided to clean out our storage area down in the basement, so he brought stuff up here for me to help him.  Among the stuff he brought up were about 35 trays of Aunt Helen's slides along with her old slide projector.  He also brought my slide projector and 1 carousel of slides.  My carousel was a slide presentation for the Lupus Foundation made many years ago.  Aunt Helen's slides were all mixed up and dated back to 1958 or so.  I went thru every slide by hand...the projector wouldn't work.  I threw out all of them except about 75 slides of us way back when.  I'm going to find someone to put them on a CD for me to save.  My projector works fine, so we put all of the saved slides into my carousel and looked at them.  What a riot!  I sure don't remember Aunt Helen being at our house for so many big events in my life!  Anyway, that project is done and out of here!  Yay!

Consequently, I didn't get much appliqueing done today.  Maybe I'll get more done tomorrow.

Grrr

Last night when I got ready to blog, Windows 10 was having issues and I couldn't get in.  Thus, no blog.

We had a glorious day yesterday - 80s with a nice little breeze.  We had the condo open and ate both lunch and dinner on the balcony!  Finally about 9:00 we turned the air on so it wouldn't be so hot to sleep!  I think today is supposed to be another beautiful day!
