Sunday

I only did 2 of our church services today because I slept in this morning.  I still have to watch the Waterloo service which I can do tomorrow.

Dave and  I walked this afternoon, then I went to Bob & Ann's to try to help them get appointments to have their vaccines.  They finally got them all set - they'll get their first shots on Tuesday.  Most of our friends here in the park are set to get their first shots in the next week or so.  We'll all feel better about getting them done!

Saturday

We got up early again this morning.  About 8:15 we left to get some gasoline and then head to Fort Myers to Six Mile Cypress Slough to meet Jami.  She stopped to get us Subways and then met us at the Slough.  We enjoyed our 2.5 mile around the Slough and then sat down to have our sandwiches.  We really enjoyed our day today.  The weather was beautiful!  Only Jami came today.  Kelly's at U of Florida, Megan was working at Kilwin's, and Danny had a soccer game that Tom took him to.  We stayed there until about 3:25 just visiting and enjoying being out in the lovely weather!

I drove home and traffic was something!  Couldn't wait to get off of I-75!!  Now Dave is asleep in his chair and I'm fighting sleep.

We started a book on the way down - Jack and Jill by James Patterson.  Finished it on the way back home.  Good book!!

Friday

Our morning started at 6:00 again, trying to get Bob & Ann vaccine appointment...to no avail.  Then a little later, Dave touched up paint around our house - inside.  I was the "spot spotter"...I found the spots that he needed to paint!  We work well together.

After lunch, we went to Verizon because my phone was pretty badly scratched.  We were able to get new Motorola Edge+ phones for almost the same thing we were already paying.  This was a big upgrade to 5G.  Can't wait to take a bunch of pix to see how the cameras compare to our old phones.

We picked up our grocery order at Sam's.  Then I ordered pizza for Bob and Ann and us and Bob went with me to pick it up.  Found out while we were at Post Corner that the little Greek man who owned PC passed away and his daughter sold the restaurant to The Opal.  The restaurant it obviously hurting...at 5:30 when we got there, only 1 booth had people in it...it was a bit early for diners, but still...

Thursday

It's a little chilly here today, but not too bad.  I still wore shorts, but I was a bit cold.  I put on a jacket to walk.  We also delivered newsletters while we were walking.  Dave washed the lanai windows today.  My shoulder is still hurting, but it feels better than it did last night.

Wednesday

Today was the day I've been dreading for a while now.  This is the day that Dave and I drove to Port Charlotte to have our first covid vaccine shot.  The shot itself was nothing.  Our appointments were for 11:24 and 11:36.  We got there about 11:15 and were both vaccinated and out of there by 11:30.  The best part of the whole thing...there was an ice cream drive-up shot in the Publix parking lot and they make wonderful chocolate shakes.  We had one after we had our shots...yum!!  Then we began the drive home.  It was a 1 hour and 40 minute drive each way but it wasn't so bad.  After we got over the Skyway Bridge the fog cleared out and it was a gorgeous day.  Coming back, while we were driving in sunshine, we kept reading that the Skyway bridge had limited visibility, but we couldn't believe it because it was so pretty south of there.  When we got up on top of the bridge, we saw what they meant...it was like a cloud was stuck on the bridge...the rest of the trip home was cloudy!

Tuesday

This morning was a very lazy morning.  I woke up late and then stayed in bed for a while before I came out of the bedroom.  Felt good to just lay there and think.  I got my breakfast eaten and my shower taken before The View...but just barely.  After lunch I swept the floor and Dave Swiffered it.  Other than walking, we didn't do much...I should say I didn't do much.  Dave washed the lanai ceiling!!

Tomorrow we drive to Port Charlotte to get our vaccines for Covid.  Pray that all goes well.

Monday

My day started really early unfortunately.  I woke up at 5:00!!  Dave got up about 6:00, fixed my breakfast then went back to bed for a while.  Lucky him!  Around 10: 15 we went to Affordable Aluminum to pick up some window cleaner and then to Reddington Shores to meet Sudi and Howard.  We sat and visited for over an hour outside and socially distanced.  It's always good to see them!

We came home after our visit, had lunch, and then I took a nice nap.  We walked later and now Dave is watching some movie that's sort of sci-fi so he has his earphones on so I don't have to hear all the mayhem!  I am watching some videos that I subscribe to that show me different techniques for making cards, etc.

Sunday

We both did our 3 church services today.  They were all good!  Then after lunch, Dave took a nap while I worked on puzzles and went over to talk to Bob.  Then we took off for Taylor Park where we had a good day!  We saw 5 alligators!  A couple of them were pretty big!  One looked deformed - big head but little tail.  Interesting.

After we got home, we started watching football.  In the first game, I wanted Allan Lazard (ISU product) to do well so I found myself cheering for the Packers...that was really weird!  I'm not a Tom Brady fan, but I'm glad the Bucs won so they'll play in their home stadium for the Super Bowl.  I'll be cheering for Kansas City in that game!  I really like that team!  Even though Buffalo has an ISU kid on their team,, I couldn't cheer for them against KC.

Saturday

Dave and I both tried to get into the website to get an appointment for our vaccine in Pinellas County, but to no avail.  None of us on our street got in.  At least we have an appointment for Wednesday in Port Charlotte.  When we finally got off the computers we went outside and moved some rocks from the front of our house to the side garden.  Now it looks much better and we didn't have to go buy rocks!

After lunch we went to Eagle Lake to walk.  We even saw an alligator today - that's our first at Eagle Lake.  He looked to be about 6 feet long...maybe a little less.  It was a hot, muggy day out there today.  My face was leaking something fierce!!

Friday

Unfortunately I woke up at 4:30 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep.  So I read.  We wanted to get up at 5:45 anyway to get on the website to try and get scheduled for a vaccine.  We got in and are scheduled for our shots at 11:24 and 11:36 on the 27th...in Port Charlotte.  We may try to get in to one in Pinellas County tomorrow.  If we're able to, we will cancel the one in Port Charlotte.

We walked here at the park today.  It was a gorgeous day!!  This afternoon, I fell asleep and took a 2-hour nap...guess the 4:30 wake-up got to me!

Thursday

We had a beautiful day today!  Dave and I went on an adventure today.  We decided to do our walk on the beach.  Walking in sand is way harder than walking on the concrete here at the park.  But we got our walk in and it was a beautiful place to walk.

I tried to take a little bit of a nap this afternoon after we walked, but to no avail.  So I read instead.  Then Dave home and then he told me about a leak from one of my board members.  So now I'm working to put out any fires.

Wednesday

We were up early this morning, trying to get an appointment to get our vaccines, but to no avail.  We were in the queue but then got shut out.

We watched the inauguration today.  It feels like a weight has lifted off our shoulders.  We no longer have to grab our phones first thing in the morning, checking to see what His Orangeness did last night while we were sleeping!  It was so good to see him fly off, out of DC this morning!

Besides walking today, I also rode by bike around the park.  My legs aren't used to pedaling!  I could really tell it when I got home.

Tuesday

Yay!  I got up this morning with my mouth feeling much better!  We even had popcorn this evening and other than having to eat on the left side of my mouth which is totally foreign to me, I enjoyed the popcorn immensely!

We did our walk early this morning because Dave had things he wanted to do here at the house.  I worked on some cards -- I brought lots of parts for cards and starting putting them all together.  I think I finished another 10-12 cards.  The only place I have to work is the kitchen table and I can't stand the mess so I had to clean up before I could sit down this afternoon.  I really wanted to nap, but I'm trying really hard to break myself of that nap habit!

Monday

I hate going to the dentist...and today was one of those "dentist" days.  My appointment was at 9:00 - I finally got in the chair about 9:30.  That didn't make me happy to start out.  I had a soft spot starting under a bridge so Dr had to take off a 3-tooth bridge, work on building up those teeth under it, take an impression to order a new bridge and then put on a temporary.  I was in the chair until about noon...again, that didn't make me happy.  Then I was presented with a $1,600 bill - again not happy!!!  My mouth is pretty sore so I took a nap when I got home.  I finally ate a sandwich and some yogurt this evening for supper.  My mouth wasn't happy with me so I didn't want to eat!

That's about all I did all day.  I tried to order groceries from Sam's Club but I didn't want to get them until Friday.  They don't let you order that early...grrrr!!

Sunday

It was another chilly day here...I would rather it be warmer, but I guess I can't do anything about that.

After "attending" our various church services, we went for our walk...with sweatshirts on.  I'm still able to wear shorts, but a sweatshirt is absolutely necessary.  This afternoon we washed the outside of the windows.  Dave helped because he can reach the upper half of the windows.  So I did the lower half and he followed behind me.  It's pretty easy with the "Ultimate Cloth".  We used these on our show cars and love them - no soap/spray...just water!!  Sure looks nice looking out our windows now!!

Saturday

Today was a nice day if you could  stay in the sun...if you were in the shade, it was cold!  We walked close to noon and I didn't need a jacket.  Others were out and were dressed for winter.  I'm glad I'm warm blooded!  Poor Dave has been wearing  long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and long underwear for most of the time we've been here it seems.

I was able to get one of us registered for the vaccination - unfortunately it was me and not Dave.  He's the one who is at the greatest risk with his lungs.  I don't know what happened for sure.  I got everything in for him, then when I was checking the boxes agreeing to everything, I got kicked out and couldn't get back in.  I'll try again tomorrow to fix his.

I washed the inside windows today.  Dave said he'd wash the outside.

This morning I went over to Ann's to attend a Zoom meeting of P.E.O. Chapter HR.  It was good seeing some "old" friends!

I walked this afternoon with Karen and Tom.  Dave painted the front trim and the big awning today.  He's pretty stiff and sore this evening.

Today Kyle & Cassie's twins are 3 years old!  Wow!  Those 3 years just flew by!

Thursday

We took our walk around 10:00 this morning, which meant I had to get moving a little earlier than I have been moving!  That's okay, though.

We didn't do too much today.  After The View, we ate lunch then took a short nap and read.  Dave's cousin wrote a series of short stories about his military career so that's what Dave is reading.  Occasionally he reads one of the stories to me.  He's a good story teller.

Wednesday

Very cold here today.  I even wore jeans and a long-sleeved shirt...no socks, though.  I put on a hooded sweatshirt to do my walk.  It was trying to rain on me, but I moved fast enough I didn't get wet!!  lol

Dave helped Bob on a project today so I was here alone all day long...boring!!  I even ate lunch alone.  I didn't feel like getting my inks out, so I just watched videos and read most of the day.  I did keep checking the news stations to see how that was going...:)

Tuesday

Dave and Bob had an errand to run this morning, so I took the time to open my new watercolors.  It took me forever to get the paper off the little half pans - all 24 of them!  By the time I got the paper off, I was almost out of the mood to create.  I did have a couple of stamped images on watercolor paper that I worked on.  My tremors do not play nice with watercolor paints!!  I didn't do too badly, but the shakes are very frustrating.  Next time will be a bit easier because I know I can do it now.  After lunch I worked with my alcohol inks that that was much more fun!!

This afternoon while Dave was helping John and Gayle, I took my walk.  Karen across the street joined me.  We walked faster than we do when it's Dave and me.

Tonight I'm in a class for getting your camera off of automatic...in my pjs!!  I think I've already done this class, but it's good review.  I think I should sleep well tonight because I'm pretty bored and the class goess for another 20-30 minutes yet.

Monday

We had a nice day today...it wasn't cold until later this afternoon.  We went to deliver a donation  for the children's' home to our church after lunch.  Bob & Ann rode with us - all of us with masks on.  We stopped at the Yellow Banks Groves on Walsingham to get an orange and vanilla ice cream cone.  Neither Bob nor Ann had experienced this ice cream before.

When we got home, I took a nap.  This evening we called Bryan and his family.  Kaitlyn is always so shy  when we're talking to her.  She finally warmed up when we started playing peek-a-boo.  Poor Aidan wasn't feeling well and vomited while we were on the phone...then he felt much better.  Then he even told us what all he was doing in school.  I miss those little munchkins!!

Sunday

Boy, it was cold here - 39 is too cold for Florida!!  By the time we took our walk, though, it was chilly, but decent...I even got warm finally!

This morning, we did 3 church services.  I actually watched 4 services.  I watched Anona's 8:15 traditional service AND the contemporary service at 9:30.  I also watched Waterloo and Ottumwa.

This afternoon I baked cookies and also had a Bloody Mary with Bob.  Then Dave and I fixed 1" thick pork chops by searing them and then baking them.  They were yummy!

Today we went to Largo Nature Park to walk.  We didn't even take our cameras, because we have lots of pictures at LNP!  Well, today we should have had our cameras - there were lots of critters and the light was perfect to get good pictures.  Even the alligator was posing - he looked right at us and usually he's turned to where we only see his side.  There was also a Roseate Spoonbill and we hardly ever see one of those at LNP!  Oh well...we had a good, chilly walk!

Dave had another chiropractor treatment today and I decided to ride along.  I took my Kindle and stayed in the car.  Afterward we needed a couple of things from the grocery store, so I went into SuperCuts to see if I could get my hair cut.  The stylist I like was available so I'm a happy camper tonight!  My hair was so long - it just flipped up everywhere!

This afternoon, we spent some time outside  with  Bob & Ann and then we took a walk.  It was a bit chilly when you weren't in the sun.

Thursday

Today was "wash our mobile home" day.  We hire a company to come wash our home every year.  Bob usually does theirs that same day.  He does a great job and gets under the awnings and everywhere.  He did Bob & Ann's first because they were going golfing.  Then ours.  He was done with both units before noon.  Saves a lot of wear and tear on Dave and Bob.

This afternoon we went for our walk.  We also watched some follow-up on the situation at the nation's capitol.  Agent Orange is going to get by without any consequences yet again.

Wednesday

It was a very nice day here today.  Lots of sunshine.  I rode my bike around the park a couple of times, chasing Bob & Ann!  I was trying to catch them to ride with them, but I got stopped by Mike who wanted to talk.  That was fine because I haven't seen him for about a week.  I eventually caught them and got to ride along,  When we got done, I went over to relieve Bob.  He and Ann (mostly Ann) were cutting back their hibiscus which was taller than I am.  So Ann cut it back and I took what she cut and put them in a trash bin.  Then Bob took them to the dumpster.

Dave went to a new chiropractor today.  He seemed to like the way the guy adjusted him.  He's been having so much trouble with sciatica so I'm hoping he feels much better tomorrow.  Then after lunch, I read that the Capitol had been stormed so we turned on the tv.  We didn't move...we watched the coverage for hours.  Why in the world would anyone want Agent Orange for a President.  He incites and invites a crowd to storm the Capital, then when it gets out of hand, he refuses to call in the National Guard.  Then when he gets a chance to go on tv and quell this insurrection, he says he understands why they're upset...the election got stolen from them...so they should be peaceful and go home.  But he loves them!  What an idiot!!  He really cares about the United States!

Bob and Ann got here this morning - safe and sound!  We had lunch ready for them.  So after we helped them unload their car and visited for a bit, we came home and got their lunch.  Later this afternoon we went over and visited for a bit.  It's good to have them here.

We took our walk this afternoon.  It was a bit chilly, but it was a nice time to walk.  This evening we watched the end of The Lion King...I wish we had seen all of it.

Happy New Year 2021!  We're all glad to be rid of 2020...hopefully 2021 will bring with it a healing of our nation and our bodies!  We're all tired of Covid and want to go back to "normal"!

Dave and I worked around here this morning...nothing big, just piddled!  After lunch we went to Largo Nature Park for our walk.  There were several cars in the parking lot, but we were pretty much all distanced out on the boardwalk.  Then when we got to the path west of the lake, we met about 5 people.  We could get 6 feet away from them though.  It was hot but it felt good to walk and sweat!

This evening, we fixed filet mignons and cooked cabbage for our supper.  Both were scrumptious! We had to eat cooked cabbage to have a prosperous year!!  We also got to talk to the little grandkids.
