Tuesday

Where did June go????  I'm really surprised that July will be here tomorrow.  Time flies when you're having fun!

Dave and I walked early - thank goodness there was a good breeze today.  In fact, this evening we sat out on the balcony while  the burgers cooked on the grill.  It was very nice out.  We vacuumed and dusted today...and steamed the floors in the kitchen and bathrooms.  Tomorrow I'm going to work in my studio again.

Monday

We walked early again this morning, but the feel like temperature was already 88!  I about melted.  After I cooled down, I took my shower.

Dave worked down in the garage area.  We have a storage closet/room down there.  It's basically all his stuff.  He worked for a long time organizing it.  While he was down there, I made cookies and worked on making sentiments for my cards.   We both had a fun day.

Sunday

I didn't walk today - I figured I walked enough yesterday to make up for today.  My biceps hurt - I guess I lifted one box too many!  I put Biofreez on both of my arms to sit here tonight.  Funny!  Dave, however, loaded up all that was left downstairs into Neil's and our pickups to take to Habitat ReStore on Tuesday.

I played all day except for the time I went to church.  I even did a bunch of stamping.

Saturday

What a beautiful Saturday!  Perfect for a yard sale here at Regency North!  We made about $1400 and sold LOTS of stuff.  I was a little disappointed with the turnout, but considering the coronavirus, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.  Almost everyone who came to our sale wore masks.  I heard no coughing or sneezing and people pretty much stayed away from others except to pay for their stuff!

I'm exhausted tonight.  I walked almost 5 miles today and yesterday, carrying stuff, putting up tables, etc.  I'm too old for this kind of punishment!  At least this morning I came in under my goal weight, so I was able to make it thru June without losing my lifetime status with WW.

Friday

Today was the get-ready day for our big yard sale tomorrow.  We moved everything from the far end of the garage to close to the front.  It only took us about 3 hours - there were 10 of us working on it.  Tomorrow morning EARLY we'll get everything outside and set up before our 8:00 AM start.  Sure hope everyone wears their masks!  After this sale, we're going into isolation again for a week to ten days.  Actually I get to see my family on the 4th!!  I'll try to social distance as much as possible.  I would hate it if I took this virus into my family.

Tonight we went to Bryan's for pizza and movie night.  We watched the Lego movie #2.  Aidan was so excited about it.  He talked most of the way thru the movie - loudly!  Kaitlyn sat on my lap until Bryan came in from cleaning up the  dishes.  Then she wanted him - she's a daddy's girl, definitely!!

Thursday

Dave and I walked early today - not that we had anything pressing to do today!!  Everyday is becoming a bit like the last one.  One thing nice about social isolating is that you don't spend as much money because you don't go anywhere.  It'll be interesting reconciling our credit card statement now because most all of the entries will be for groceries!

Dave had to go out to return our Florida license plate to Pinellas County this afternoon, plus we had something we'd ordered from Amazon that needed returned.  So while he was out, I sat out on the balcony and read.  It was just perfect out there!  I even had hummers visit while I was there.  When Dave came home, he stopped at Wendy's and got us each a Frosty!  That was a nice surprise.  I didn't need it, but I enjoyed it anyway!

Wednesday

I actually slept until close to 8:00 this morning.  For some reason I've been waking up at 5:30 or so and not really sleeping after that...grrr!  This morning, though, I went back to sleep and slept hard!  Dave went to pick up our groceries shortly after I got up.  Then he went to Bryan's to mow, so I didn't take my walk until  12:15.  It was a little hot then, but there was a nice breeze when I got in the shade of a tree.

This evening, we had some wonderful rumbling thunder that resulted in a small shower and a beautiful double rainbow!

Now it's perfectly calm out there.  The flag isn't moving at all.

Tuesday

We had a gorgeous day here today.  Unfortunately lots of creeks and rivers are out of their banks nearby.  I heard anywhere from 7-9 inches of rain in about 12 hours!!  No wonder there are lakes popping up all over.

We sold our Cadillac today.  Dave got quotes from 3 different places.  Our local Nissan dealer (where we bought our Rogue) bought it.  The check is in the bank and now we're down to 2 vehicles again.  Yay!

After I picked Dave up at the Nissan dealership, I helped mark items for our garage sale here at the condo.  We've got lots of stuff - hope a bunch of it sells!

We took our walk at 4:00 - it was really nice weather to walk then.  Finally I didn't get too hot!

Monday

We finally got some rain - about 7 inches overnight and today.  We had rivers in ditches between us and the golf course and water standing in our yard.

Finally around 5:30 or  so it cleared up and was a pretty evening.  Would have been a great day for a nap, but I didn't take one.

Dave detailed the Cadillac and now we're ready to sell it.  He got one offer from Iowa City and tomorrow he's going to take it to a couple of dealers locally.  I worked on alcohol ink stuff, but when it's humid the ink doesn't do quite right.  So I may re-do them tomorrow.

Sunday

Happy Father's Day!  Dave and I went to walk early this morning because it was supposed to rain.  It still hasn't rained - but it's lightning like crazy right now.  While we were walking, we saw a lady sitting in front of a grave reading letters and crying.  Both Dave and I teared up, so I was sniffling all through our walk.

Tonight we went to Bryan's for supper - steak & chicken, cheesy potatoes, salad, sweet corn, apple/cranberry crisp and homemade ice cream!!  A feast fit for Father's Day!

Saturday

We were supposed to go to Fairfield today for Allison's graduation party.  Because of the virus, we didn't go.  We were just too concerned about being around people who hadn't been social distancing.  We would have had to quarantine for another 2 weeks when we got back.  I really want to see my family, but I was sure there would be people there without masks.

Dave and I worked around here today.  I finally went for my walk about 5:00.  He was too tired to go with me.  On the way home from my walk, a lady down the street was out with her 4 little King Cavalier Spaniels...so I got to meet all of them today!  There's the two brown/white ones -- Mollie and Tate (who's deaf) and the black/white ones -- Timmy (who's the guardian of the universe) and Kirby (the 5 1/2 month old puppy).  I got to love on 3 of the 4.  Tate didn't come over near me until I was about ready to leave.  Their "mom" Connie is very nice to talk to.  I like it when she's out.  Their yard is all torn up right now...the sidewalk is getting replaced.  When that's done, their driveway is getting replaced...so they're going to be in a mess for a long time!

Friday

We had a productive day today.  We took our walk early.  It had rained overnight and was supposed to rain off and on all day.  Then we went to Kevin & Janet's new condo and picked up their microwave, which they gave to us.  We cleaned house.  I painted a bit and finished the book I was reading.  Our handyman (everyone in the condo uses him) came and hung up our new microwave.

It was a good day!!

Thursday

I did some painting after our walk.  I actually got my inks to form a rose and a bud!!  I didn't do a photo, but hope to tomorrow.  I even put it in a frame.  I was really happy with it!!

Dave had a board meeting this evening - they elected officers tonight.  Yay, Dave turned down the President position.  We feel like the officers here should definitely be full-time residents.  (I also feel that way about Holiday Ranch, but no one wants to do it there.  In fact, it's like pulling teeth to get people to run for the Board.

It's supposed to rain here tomorrow.  We've gone 8 full days without rain - we really need it!

Wednesday

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood!  We didn't get to walk until close to noon, so it was a little hot...but we got our walk in anyway!

The rest of the day Dave spent getting ready for the annual meeting tonight.  I, however, just played in my studio.  I actually stamped with a new stamp set and put some sentiments on some cards I've made.

Our annual meeting went well.  Dave was the moderator and did a very good job!

Tuesday

Today was another beautiful windy day!  I watch out our balcony doors a lot during the day - watching hummingbirds and the flag and the sky.  I've often said the view would be perfect if a deer would pop in every once in a while.  One did this evening!!  A lone doe just bounced by - only saw her for the briefest of minutes, but it made the view off our balcony perfect!!

Dave and I walked after The View today - good thing the wind was blowing, cause it was hot out walking.  I piddled in my studio today while Dave had a board meeting and a meeting with a contractor.  I also got the dusting done.

Monday

I hate daylight savings time!!  I wake up around 6:20 every morning - which is 7:30 normally.  My internal alarm clock just wakes me up!!  Some mornings I can go back to sleep, but most mornings I can't. Today was one of those days.

Dave worked on the camper today - we had some things that needed repaired.  Tonight he went out to Bryan's to have him help fix a couple  of drawers.  Bouncing down the highway takes a toll on parts of the camper.

We took our walk around 5:00 tonight.  That was the wrong time.  It was pretty hot and humid out there.  Thank goodness there was a nice breeze.

Sunday

We had a good weekend of camping.  The internet connection wasn't very good so I couldn't post in the evening.  I think the two little grandkids enjoyed their time.  I know they played a bunch and even watched a couple of movies in our camper!  The adults had a good time - the weather was great...a little cold in the mornings and evenings.  At least we know both the furnace and the a/c work!

We're home, unpacked, the laundry is done and everything is put away!

Thursday

Today we both walked - yay!!  I like it much better when Dave walks with me!  It was a gorgeous day here today...after two days of gray and rainy weather, we needed a beautiful day.

The rest of our day was spent getting ready to go on our first camping trip this weekend.  We're going to Union Grove with the kids - should be fun!

Wednesday

Another drizzly day today.  The sun didn't come out until about mid-afternoon.   I went out about 3:00 forr a walk.  The sun was out, but the wind had picked up, so my walk was pretty difficult.  But at least I got out.  I also met some people up the street who have 4 little Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.  Their 4th dog is a puppy who is so sweet.  The lady, Connie, is super friendly.  I enjoyed my visit with her.

I worked in my studio for lots of the day.  I went through all of my cardstock and cut the scraps into usable pieces.   I was also able to make a bunch of card bases.  Maybe I'll find my tabletop one of these days!!

My friend, Tom Boskey, got disappointing news today.  Last night he told us he was going to be moving to a rehab center.  Today, however, he was tested again - he had to have a negative result in order to be moved.  Unfortunately, his test today was negative.  He's really, really bummed.  Please keep him in your prayers.

Tuesday

Cristobal arrived in Iowa today.  By 9:30 or so  it was raining and it rained pretty much all day.  The rain came straight down which was nice - no wind involved.  I must say I'm glad it's out of here now.  It's easy to get down on a gray day!

I finished stamping my Christmas cards and worked on other cards.   Some of the cards I have around here are old, so it's time to replace them with newer ones.  Plus, I want to give some to our neighbor who's done a bunch for us!

Dave helped a guy whose water heater went out and he also did some HOA business.  At 6:00 I did a fun thing.  Tom Boskey (one of my ISU boys from 1975) works at Smithfield Foods in Sioux Falls, SD.  He's the first one from there (of 400+) to get the coronavirus.  He's tested positive for 75 days - just got his first negative test.  He's been in the hospital all of this time (still is) and was on a ventilator for over 45 of those days.  He's now learning to walk all over.  He has lost over 70 pounds and is lucky to be alive.  One of my other guys set up a zoom call so we could visit with Tom.  It was a lot of fun.  I think at one time there were 15 of us on the call.  Coach Campbell (ISU's current football coach even got on and gave Tom a bit of a pep talk!)  Tom sounds so good - his sense of humor was the same!  His looks were much different.  He has a big beard from being in the hospital all of those days - it certainly aged him!  God is good.  God wasn't ready for Tom yet!!

Monday

This day started mighty early!!  I had an appointment with my neurologist in Iowa City at 9:00 AM!!  I wonder why on earth I would have gotten that early of an appointment!!  That meant we had  to leave Waterloo by 7:30 - which meant we had to get up by 6:30!!  Next year's appointment is at 10:40 - I'm older and wiser this year!!  Anyway, I got good news there - no Parkinson's!!

This afternoon, Dave mowed at Bryan's and I worked on cards...and took a 30 minute nap!!  I'm ready for the last step of my Christmas cards - stamping the sentiment on the inside.  Then all I'll have to  do is write the letter to go in them and print out the labels for addressing them!  This is definitely the earliest I have worked on Christmas cards!

Sunday

After church online this morning, I went for a walk by myself.  It was a gorgeous morning - low 70s and a nice easterly breeze.  Dave worked on putting the second coat of sealer on the top of the camper.  When I got home, Dave just got done, so our timing was perfect!!

This evening we were invited to Bryan's for a cookout.  We ate outside and the mosquitoes came in just as we were getting done.  Good evening!

Saturday

Dave worked on sealing the roof of the camper today, so I had to walk by myself.  I broke a strap on my mask while I was transferring it from one hand to the other.  When I got back to the condo I had to hold my mask over my nose and mouth!  Not very good when I had my walking stick and needed one hand to use the key to get into both the front door and our condo!!  I'm always getting myself into some kind of a situation!!  It was a good morning for a walk - relatively cool (70s) and relatively low humidity (50%).  Plus I had the cemetery pretty much all to myself!

This afternoon I worked on cards.

Friday

I was a bum today - the day got by me and I didn't get my walk in.  I had an interiors meeting this morning where we all wore masks and sat 6 feet apart.  We're having a big yard sale on June 27th to raise more money so we can finish the lobby.  It's a fun committee.

After lunch I made a pan of brownies to take out to Bryan's tonight.  We went out for family night.  Erin's mom and dad were there, too.  After dinner we watched Cinderella and I got too hold a sleepy little girl!!

Special times!

Thursday

I went out for my walk this morning about 8:45.  Half an hour later, I came home drenched in sweat!  There was NO breeze at all when I walked.  That changed as the day progressed and thunderstorms moved into the area.

After my walk, I took Dave out to Bryan's where he was going to finish the camper.  We got to get hugged by Aidan, but Kaitlyn became really shy.  She's not used to seeing us except on her daddy's phone.  Later she warmed up to Dave, but I had already left.

I finished up my idea for our Christmas card and made a sample.  Dave liked it, so I'll be finishing them up now.  I also got some reading done and baked cookies while Dave was at Bryan's.

Wednesday

We walked early this morning because it was to be a hot one later.  It was hot when we walked!  There are a few shady spots in the cemetery and they sure felt good!  I came home, cooled down in front of the fan, cut Dave's hair out on the balcony and then took my shower!  I didn't sleep well last night so I took a short nap this afternoon.

This afternoon, while Dave worked on the camper,  I worked (played) in my studio both before and after my little nap.  That was fun!  I got a couple of new stamp sets today so I'm anxious to get to use them.  Maybe tomorrow!

Hot one in Iowa today.  Dave said  the car said 92 degrees.  He went to Bryan's to mow.  He said Kaitlyn just waved and waved at him.  I get to see them Friday.  We will be off our 2 weeks at that time and Bryan has invited us out for pizza.  Can't wait to see the kids!!

I worked on cards today.  I've got a good start on 60 Christmas cards.  I usually do them in July, but started early this year.  I've got glue all over my nails.  It's coming off little by little, though.

Monday

I went to the doctor today to have this "wart" burned off my finger.  Turns out it's not a wart at all.  It's more of a ganglia associated with the arthritis in my fingers.  So no burning today!  Very interesting going to the clinic today.  There was a line inside the door where they take your temp, ask questions, have you put a blue mask over your cloth mask, then go to the doctor's office where you answer more questions and sit 6 feet from the nearest patient.

Dave was involved in HOA stuff all day.  I did some more culling in my craft room.  I think the fabric stuff is next...oh no!!
